Nora is a student currently studying at Thunder Bay.
Personality[edit]
She's attracted to women but hasn't told anyone yet.<ref>“And the flag thing…” Nora mumbled, barely audible. “I meant I couldn’t.”
Avery looked at her, then settled into her seat. “Honestly, valid. Every situation’s different. I’m pretty lucky.”
Nora watched the class, her eye searching faces, agitated.
“Never mentioned that to anyone,” Nora whispered.

Shes a couple of months younger than Avery.<ref>“Oh, that,” Connor said. “Good question. Are you younger or older than Avery?”
“Younger,” Nora said. “Couple of months, I think?” - Excerpt from Let Slip 20.c</ref>
Relationships[edit]
Avery Kelly is Nora's girlfriend.<ref>Nora glanced around, then asked, “Can I kiss you?”
Avery nodded with more enthusiasm, “But-”
The word was barely out when Nora’s lips met hers. Nora squeezed her hand at the same time.- Excerpt from Left in the Dust 16.3</ref>
Snowdrop approves of and is approved by Nora.<ref>“She’s special,” Avery murmured. And you’re Snowdrop approved and Snowdrop approving.- Excerpt from Playing a Part 15.2</ref>
She advised Avery to watch out for Jeanine due to her past history of drama.<ref>I don’t know if I should even say this, but watch out for Jeanine?”
“Watch out as in…?”
“As in… a lot of hurt feelings and broken friendships left behind her. Don’t tell her I said that.”- Excerpt from Fall Out 14.4</ref>
Her mother is extremely protective of her, due to her past history of obesity she refuses to allow Nora to eat anything that's unhealthy or that has sugar in it.<ref>“So no actual sugar-sugar ever?” Liberty asked, horrified.
“No, sometimes, but it’s a very special treat. Or I can have it if I’m a guest somewhere. It’s not the only food thing. My mom’s weird about using margarine instead of butter and drinking water instead of anything else, no juice, never juice. No bread-”
...
“That’s a lot of food weirdness,” Avery replied.
“She was pretty heavy as a teen and got bullied pretty bad over it. I think she was like, two hundred pounds, at five foot five?”- Excerpt from Left in the Dust 16.3</ref> She also made her move school after learning that one of her old teachers was still working their.<ref>“I gather your mom’s overprotective?” Avery asked.
Nora shrugged, then fixed the blanket that slipped from her shoulder. “I mentioned the bullying she had, and there was other stuff. One teacher- he taught her and when she found out he was still teaching at the school I was going to go to, she changed me to a different school. That was the biggest thing she’s done.”- Excerpt from Left in the Dust 16.3</ref>
She has two brothers Henry and Luke, who are twelve and eleven respectfully. Nora is often frustrated that her mother is never as harsh on them about eating healthy or what school they go to.<ref>She’s not as hard on my little brothers about the food thing. They can get snacks on the way home. And they do, a lot. They can have toaster cookies, maybe one box a month, but I can’t because it’s a ‘kid’ food.”
...
“Two. Henry and Luke. Twelve and eleven. Henry’s going to high school next year and he might get to go to the school I wasn’t allowed to. He argued about it, mom got a bit down again, dad took him aside and told him to quit it, but that he’ll probably be allowed to go. He gloated to me about it.”- Excerpt from Left in the Dust 16.3</ref>
Her dad retired early after getting made redundant.<ref>“What’s your dad like?” Liberty asked.
“He got fired and sort of unofficially retired? I guess? He’s older than my mom, decided looking for work is more of a hassle than just living off the retirement savings he has. He kind of putters around the house, gardens sometimes, cleans up, drives us places. Mostly follows my mom’s lead.”- Excerpt from Left in the Dust 16.3</ref>
She has a cousin in Puerto Rico who has vitiligo.<ref>“I’ve got a cousin in Puerto Rico who has vitiligo. It’s the same. I think it’s beautiful, but obviously I don’t have to live with it,” Nora said. - Excerpt from Let Slip 20.6</ref>
Nora and Putnam are in a band together.<ref>“Band,” Lucy supplied.
“There’s some strong personalities on the band-”
“Putnam,” Avery said.- Excerpt from Let Slip 20.5</ref>
Appearance[edit]
She has a small build, light brown skin has dreadlocks. She wears black clothes inspired by heavy metal.<ref>She was small, wearing a black death metal tee, black jeans, her hair in thin dreads, with light brown skin and very long lashes that were probably fake, but were the only real reach out to femininity if they were.- Excerpt from Fall Out 14.4</ref> She has a necklace and earrings made from candy.<ref>Except Nora also had a necklace of what looked like the tiny bottom-of-the-barrel hard, disc-shaped, chalk-like sugar candies with holes forced through them so they could be strung along a thread, and Preservers candies with wires for earrings.- Excerpt from Playing a Part 15.2</ref> Her fashion sense was inspired by a kids cartoon featuring an eco Wiccan goth pop rock band.<ref>“Nineteen ninety nine, I think. Just random kids movies and random episodes from old cartoons. And one was this monster hunting movie and there were these characters that popped up and they were in an wiccan eco goth… pop rock band and… that was just about the best thing I’d ever seen.”- Excerpt from Playing a Part 15.2</ref>
Abilities[edit]
Nora is a skilled drummer and has turned her garage into an improvised music room.<ref>Then she saw the drum set.
“I did a lot of homemade soundproofing but obviously there’s- can you close the door?” Nora asked. “Obviously it’s drums. Nothing’s going to be perfect.”
Avery did. Nora hit the lights. Avery could see the homemade soundproofing, which included layers of egg cartons and rugs along the walls of the garage.- Excerpt from Playing a Part 15.2</ref>
Chronology[edit]
She once stole a videotape of an animated TV show she liked despite not have anything to play it on.<ref>“I stole that videotape,” Nora said. “After my cousin got older he started playing video games all the time and expecting me to sit and watch. So I stole the tape. I still occasionally lie awake at night, feeling guilty over the fact I stole something. There’s a slice of a video of my cousin as a kid that got taped over, and I think what if my uncle goes looking and can’t find it and gets really upset?”- Excerpt from Playing a Part 15.2</ref>
She visited Kennet with Avery for Christmas, even performing in an impromptu concert.<ref>- Let Slip 20.5</ref> As the holiday drew to a close she became unhappy with Avery after learning that she was keeping secrets from her.<ref>“She knows I’m not telling her everything that’s going on with me. It’s straining things,” Avery said.- Excerpt from Let Slip 20.9</ref>
