Milk
Milk is a substance produced by mammals to feed their young. It is in fact the reason they're called mammals in the first place.
Uses[edit]
Most furry mammals are raised on this substance; with the lactation of the mother giving nutrients and helping their immune and digestive systems develop.
Chronology[edit]
The Milkmaid's hunting grounds involves tending to Cows that have a bit of Other nature in them. She later taught her friend Deedee how to collect it to feed a stray baby she found.<ref>“Milk!” she said, pointing at the bloody plastic gas can. “I got lots. And I’m very confident. If you spend enough time hurting people until they’re almost dead, then I think you learn how tough they are and what they can take. Now I do the opposite.”

Deedee twisted [the nameless goblin's] head around until she started squealing, her leg involuntarily kicking in a way that suggested spinal damage. “And that gal over there with the cow hat, that’s the Milkmaid. She’s a pal too-”
Ben looked at the bogeyman with the calf skin draping her head, who looked back at him with dead eyes.
“-Got the idea for the milk for Stray Baby from her.”

Even the Milkmaid sat at a corner table alone, glass of milk in front of her, staring at him with empty, dark eyes. - Excerpts from Poke 2 & Poke 3</ref>
Snowdrop has a fondness for it given that it was a giving food, and reminded her of her own mother.<ref>Not that she’d really done much in the wild. She had been born, crawled her way to her mom’s pouch, and then her mom had stopped giving milk.

Milk was happiness and love. It was one of the only things that was a giving food, not a taking one. Meat was taken from dead animals, and sometimes, according to Gashwad, living ones, but she hadn’t tried that yet. Fruit was the closest thing she could think of, but according to Toadswallow, fruits and vegetables were sort of like the sex organs of plants. It was only sort of by weird design that they became delicious. Animals ate the plant’s private parts, sort of, then they crapped out seeds and the plants got to spread. Or the plants were made so they didn’t have seeds and it was kind of like eating a juicy dick with a condom on it, Toadswallow said. That conversation had moved on to how flowers were also sex organs of plants, and Snowdrop was named after a flower, so she was sorta named something rude. - Excerpt from Leaving a Mark 4.x</ref>
Trivia[edit]
- Mammals take their name from mammary glands that produce the milk for their offspring with both sexes known to produce milk in some circumstances. Species throughout the animal kingdom have been known to produce similar substances,<ref>10 Animals That Make 'Milk' and Aren’t Mammals</ref> The most well known are those bird species are able to produce a form of milk.
