Dash to Pieces 11.11 is the eleventh chapter of Dash to Pieces. Verona, Lucy and Avery subdue a complex spirit and then have a discussion with Sir Toadswallow.
Plot[edit]
Lucy, Avery and Verona chase after the spirit women that the goblins had dislodged from the car and Verona uses the Gate of Horn to share Snowdrops sense of smell so that she can track it better.
The spirit they’re chasing starts pulling in or activating other echo’s that are similar to her, in particular a man hitting a keyboard against a car, somebody with road rage and the mother of the Car Crash Kid.
They follow it into someone’s garage, Verona has Snowdrop enter first in animal form as an alibi. Searching the various appliances there it is confronted reveals it self as a Spirit of Technological Accidents.
Lucy creates her arena and challenges it to a duel, she hits it and dislodges the keyboard warrior and Verona manages to bind it, she repeats the move and Avery manages to catch the mother of the Car Crash Echo.
The spirit explains that it made a deal with Edith, she was allowed to leave and counciled to find something “gentler”.
Avery and Snowdrop succeed in bottling up the road rage echo.
Their negotiations fail and the spirit is dispersed, Verona uses her cracked disconnected cellphone as a hollow and gathers up the remains. As they leave they run into the owner of the garage and manage to bemuse him that they went inside in order to capture Snowdrop, alibi succesful.
Afterwards they meet with Toadswallow in an abandoned bar where the other Kennet goblins hang out. They tell him about defeating the spirit. Snowdrop steps up as Goblin Sage and directs them off to their various tasks.
When they're alone the Trio confronts him about his idea that Goblins are actually a type of fae and his plans to create a goblin market, Toadswallow in turn reveals that he knows the trio are in contact with their friends from the Blue Heron Institute.
Verona knows about Peckersnot killing Willydew and asks Toad about it, they argue about the ethics of his methodology.
Toadswallow agrees to let them invite Liberty, Zed, Nicolette in and approves Ray's meeting with Charles, the latter is keeping his head down given all the ghosts and such around. over and for them to arrest and put on trail Maricica. He also warns them the council may not be entirely cooperative if Maricica is responsible and tells them to arrest her within 24 hours, he suggests they use completely new tools that Maricica hasn’t seen before.
