Chosen are cool and disturbing.

Methodology

Deals with tools and divine powers.<ref name=DT>Tools x Divine = Chosen
The Chosen maintain a connection to a greater power, and through that connection and their devotion to the power’s interests, they receive gifts, often items. These gifts grow stronger as the Chosen carries out the power’s will and overcomes tribulation. The practice involves knowing the words to invoke the power, drawing out the powers in the gifts, and outside of confrontations, setting up rituals that enable them to invite trials, wherein the power sets tasks, quests, and even transports them to other places for challenges, with gifts and power waiting at the end. - Pact Dice: The Practices - Wbow Version</ref> if the priests are an institution with traditions and learning and strictures then being a Chosen are trail blazers, finding ways over, under, through or whatever when dealing with obstacles. In fact much of their power comes from going through divine challenges to gain gifts.<ref name=DT/><ref>Chosen Blurb</ref>

These challenges can back fire on their sponsor for if their Chosen fails, the God can suffer.<ref name=champ/>

Anything considered among the Greater Powers can sponsor a Chosen.

Notable Chosen

  • Ulysse Miraz<ref name=champ>“Only one I won’t tell you the name of.  By his gospel, the one we came to name Prometheus had peers, and it was not the one who tried to seize the original Fire, but many.  All who tried, succeed or fail, were punished.  I found my deity nine miles beneath the surface of the earth, thoroughly protected so none might disturb his eternal punishment.  Had he succeeded, our campfires might not be wood we’ve set alight, but something else entirely.”

“Your god’s a loser?” Kevin asked, sneering a bit to drive the question home.

It did seem to nettle Ulysse.  “He was the greatest of them.  So they placed the most obstacles in his way.  Now he is my god and I am his sole worshiper, his champion.”

“It’s my understanding that if you pick this fight and lose, your god’s power will dwindle.”

Ulysse nodded. - Excerpt from Gone Ahead 7.a</ref>
