The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is an organization of witch hunters, some of whom have taken an interest in Kennet.

Description

Very little is known about the Lighthouse. The name can refer to the organization itself,<ref name=alpeana-police>"Alpeana had said the Witch Hunter was from the Lighthouse group, and that they had a relationship with the police." - excerpt from One After Another 10.e</ref> or to the location where they operate.<ref>There’s no rush to answer.  But once you can, come to the address I’m about to give you. It’s a place we call the Lighthouse." - excerpt from One After Another 10.d</ref> They also have a building in Winnipeg.<ref name=musser-nonagression>“We have arrangements with the Lighthouse.  Nonaggression pact.  We supply you with Aware.  The building in Winnipeg.”

The Lighthouse provides organization and training to its members. The training is difficult and members are expected to demonstrate high levels of commitment.<ref>“Don’t come until you know what you want.  The training is hard and bitter, the resources and tools we use too valuable to give to someone who is going to give up halfway." - excerpt from One After Another 10.d</ref> There are about twenty-five individuals who are training at the Lighthouse.<ref>"About twenty-five of us coordinate and train there." - excerpt from One After Another 10.d</ref> Witch hunters from the Lighthouse operate in small groups.<ref>"Twice in the last five years, there had been groups from the Lighthouse that had gone out to run ‘errands’ and they hadn’t come home.  Further down the road, Leann was pretty sure, Elise’s group would be asked to step up, after another squad didn’t come back from an errand.  They’d be young, fresh, talented, with blades honed and senses sharpened, their talents on full display.  Ready to step up." - excerpt from False Moves 12.a</ref>

The Lighthouse has a relationship with the Blue Heron Institute, who have been providing the Lighthouse with Aware.<ref name=musser-nonagression /> The BHI, through Bristow, also supplied the Lighthouse with their Winnipeg facility. The Lighthouse is also known to have a relationship with the police.<ref name=alpeana-police />
