Left in the Dust 16.6 is the sixth chapter of Left in the Dust.

Plot

We’re shown scenes of all the different times Lucy has been hurt.

• Lucy being comforted by Paul when one of her teachers scolds her unfairly.
• John pointing a gun at Lucy whilst holding Verona at knife point.
• Lucy coming not being pick in the Class_RankR app.
• Her watcing Gabe get murdered by the Hungry Choir.
• John shooting Alexander.
• Her watching John entering the arena.

Lucy and Bracken are training with Guilherme, Melissa is allowed to stay but prevented from seeing any magic.

Lucy and Bracken spar, eventually Lucy wins. They restart and Bracken manages to stab Lucy’s shoulder, the wounds it leaves take a while to heal. They fight again and this time Guilherme disguises himself as Bracken. The training session is harsh and Guilherme says the next one will be even tougher.

Lucy talks to Melissa and asks her to help with her and Verona’s fetch whilst they perform the demesne ritual.

Next Lucy visits the House on Half Street and finds Verona working on her alchemy with Peckersnot. She’s using the clockwork heart which improves alchemy whilst making normal chemistry worse, it also gives you hallucinations.

Verona mentions that Avery emailed saying she’ll need seventy seven random items to secure Lost Kennet.

Toadswallow creates a warren hole and brings in a group of goblins to help as security for his market, including his girlfriend Bubbleyum and Deedee. He also brings in two bodeymen, Killwagon and the Milkmaid.

Lucy gives the goblins the list Avery had sent over and asks for their help in finding the things on it.

Her and Rook return to Kennet Above and she gets a text from Verona saying that Wallace is back.

She’s worried that Wallace has rejected her she goes to see him.

Wallace says he’s going to be leaving Kennet for a bit. She tells him she was worried about him after he didn’t reply to her texts, he apologies and promises to communicate better whilst he’s away. They agree to spend some time together before he leaves.
