McCauleight Hennigar is a Gore-Streaked Dancer and member of the Hennigar family.

Personality

Her up bring with the Hennigar's has left her uncivilised and aggressive.<ref>All of them similar in how they came in like- he knew it was uncharitable, but dogs at a shelter, ones who’d come from a bad place.  Guarded, hostile, prone to bite, prone to go from sitting down and relaxed to frenzied violence with a word.  Then, at different times, sometimes sooner, sometimes later, they’d find civilization.  Their style would change, their focus would shift, they’d start trying at things that were natural for others, like table manners.  They became people who could go about their lives in everyday society without leaving a trail of distress behind them.  At least on the surface.  That ease with which they’d reach for violence as their answer to a problem would always be there.  The civility would get cast off.  Hadley could be charming, but she could also be savage.  Kellen could go between the two like he was flicking a switch.

McCauleigh wasn’t there yet.  She couldn’t relax enough to let the extremes start blurring, and she hadn’t even started to find that part of her that wanted to get to grips with the civilized world out there.- Excerpt from Break 1</ref> She has never shaved her legs, has no idea how to put on makeup and doesn't owned a bra.<ref>“Then ask your sister if there’s anything left over from when she was your age.  And shave those legs if you haven’t already.  Cabe had less hair on his legs at your age.”

Relationships

She dislikes her family, wants them to loss all the power and status that they have. If they all suddenly died she would feel relieved.<ref name=":4">“My coming of age ceremony is in eight months,” McCauleigh said, quiet, staring at the door.  The red light was changing the tint in the bedroom.  “If they all had heart attacks, I’d be sad, but also really, really relieved.”- Excerpt from Gone and Done It 17.9</ref> She hates their practice and what they do to maintain it and wants no part of it.<ref name=":2">“I want Musser to lose,” McCauleigh whispered.  “I want him to disappear like Mr. Belanger did.  Die like Mr. Belanger did.  I want my family to lose.  I want them to lose status, to lose all these people they always have around them, I want them to lose their stupid arrogant friends, and to stop going to these parties, I want them to lose all their money, and to have to work, instead of- instead of being smug, rich a-holes who kill to keep old rituals going and appease war spirits.  I want them to get sick with something so they can never get in a fight again, and everything we’ve been doing gets forgotten.  I want to get sick like that.  Where practice can’t cure it, and I can never fight again, and they can’t really blame me for it.  Then I get a side job doing something like collating notes on realms and Others my brothers and sister deal with, or I help out with negotiating marriages or some junk.”

She saw Alexander as her opportunity to escape her family.<ref name=":0">For Mccauleigh, it was being home, with a red light shining under an ominous door.  People’s voices in various rooms, and Mccauleigh chased Alexander’s as Alexander talked about all sorts of practices.  But each time Mccauleigh completed the circuit of maze-like rooms, that door with the red light shining out from the other side was open a bit wider, Mccauleigh a bit more nervous about slipping past, even crawling under furniture and passing through other rooms to avoid passing the door.

Until there were no escape routes, and the door was wide open, the sounds and screams from within too loud for Mccauleigh to hear Alexander’s voice.

Then every step, no matter the direction, took Mccauleigh a few feet closer to the door, then inside.

McCauleigh and Verona bonded over both having abusive parents, Verona offered to help with her hair, makeup and dress.<ref name=":5" />

She hates Abraham Musser and wants him to loss.<ref name=":2" />

She dislikes Salvador Martin after he made inappropriate comments about her chest and asked her for a dance.<ref>McCauleigh replied, leaning back.  “Second or third thing he ever said to me was about my chest, then a year after that- last year, he asked, if I’m a gore-streaked dancer, could I give him a dance?”- Excerpt from Gone and Done It 17.13</ref>

She screamed at Natasha Scobie so hard she thought Natasha was going to killer her.<ref>“And who screamed at Natasha Scobie, making her think she’d just done her rage scream and was going to go to murder-town on her?  But was just fucking with her?”-Excerpt from Let Slip 20.7</ref>

She eventually ended up in a relationship with Anselm.<ref>McCauleigh and Anselm were together.  Either napping or making out.  Verona didn’t pry.  McCauleigh’s corner of the demesne was her own, as was her time with Anselm. - Excerpt from Go for the Throat 23.6</ref>

Appearance

She has blonde hair, stylised into expensive look waves.<ref>“Na, tis round. Black locks, wore a bunnet.”- Excerpt from Gone Ahead 7.3</ref><ref name=":1">Knees over the edge of the seat, sneaker toes barely grazing the floor, her shoulders and neck against the back.  She wore jeans and an athletic halter top, her hair was styled in cultivated waves that might’ve cost hundreds, but the structure of that hair had languished a bit here, away from those stylists, under her inexpert care.  She had a strong chin and a perpetual ‘try me’ look on her face, and a strand of hair lay diagonally across brow and nose, untouched even though most people would want to fix it.  Like she was testing herself or signaling something to him by leaving it there, her eyes perpetually on him.- Excerpt from Break 1</ref> She's tall with muscular arms and a square, angular face<ref>She was Verona’s age, supposedly, but she was head and shoulders taller, with muscle definition on bare arms.  She looked like a model who’d been brought in to show off some athletic clothes and then got stuck in a white tank and jeans for the denim commercial too, because she was there.  She had a face with a very defined square-ish shape that almost looked like a mask, because of how sharp the jawline was, how angular and flawless her facial features were, and how rigidly she held her expression.- Excerpt from Gone and Done It 17.9</ref> and a tendency to glare a lot.<ref name=":1" /><ref>You’re blonde, so, you’re lucky, I guess.- Excerpt from Gone and Done It 17.9</ref>

Abilities

Chronology

Had a nightmare about being trapped at home attempting to search for Alexander whilst avoiding an ominous door<ref name=":0" />

Whilst at the Blue Heron Institute she cut off Corbin's thumb.<ref>“If they hadn’t been able to reattach Corbin’s thumbs, and if Corbin hadn’t been gracious about the matter, this would have been a very different conversation.  At the very least, making peace with him and apologizing would be a start.”- Excerpt from Break 1</ref>

She had a nightmare where her family tells her to wearing a dress, bra and shaving her legs for her coming of age ceremony. She has no idea or ability to act girlish and neither her sister, Hadley, or her family help her. He learn that for her coming of age ceremony she is expected to fight someone. She attempts to shave using a safety razor but ends up cutting herself. Verona visited her during this nightmare and McCauleigh offered to help her against Musser but was interrupted by Eloise before they could plan anything.<ref>- Gone and Done It 17.9</ref>

Her, Verona and Mallory had a sleep over together in her Demesne.
