Mallory, usually just Mal, is a resident of the Kennet Undercity's public school.

Personality

Contrary crass and slightly crazy Mal can be seen as a textbook example of an undercity denizen.<ref>“Just sleeps a lot.  Mal’s- well, I was going to say she’s not depraved, but she is.  She’s not that depraved.”

Mal came by. There was a guy with her, arm draped over her shoulder, eyes half-lidded, like he was halfway to passing out and leaning on her for support, and halfway just being a guy with an arm around the girl.

And there was a skinny guy with them, his hair was a bit of a mop, and he had a smile that made Verona think he was either very snarky or very confident.

Appearance

She has dyed blue hair and heavy eyeliner.<ref>The third girl had hair dyed dark blue and heavy eyeliner, and a straightened-out paperclip she was holding up, blood and black ink dried in rivulets down the length of the paperclip, hands, wrists, all the way down to her elbows.  She held a lighter to it.- Excerpt from Fall Out 14.3</ref> She uses her body as a test canvas for her still bad tattooing skills.

Abilities

She is learning to be a tattoo artist but isn't currently good at drawing.<ref>“I could pay you with much-needed art advice.  Is that a hot dog or a really shitty butterfly?” Verona asked.

Chronology

She existed prior to the creation of the Undercity but can't really remember much about it.<ref>“Do you have an existence before Kennet?”

She helped Verona find the missing substitute teacher the accidentally found their way into the Kennet Undercity. She showed the Kennet witch around after agreeing to payment and was later held hostage by the Vice Principals group so they could make a move to take over the school easier.

She took up the role of verona's friend and assistant and larger guide in the undercity area.

Long truce

Pumped up Verona emotionally in the final confrontation with Musser.<ref>There was a bang.  Mal, sitting on a counter, with hands in the pockets of her open coat, put her foot out, heel of her boot striking the edge of the wrought metal table.  Dangerously close to the Vice Principal, as Lucy saw it.  “Hey. [...] We’re all with you, dumbass.  You’re a good witch of the town, you’re pulling off cool tricks.  You pulled off the Founding, and I guess that was a big deal.”

“You guess?” Lucy asked.

“It was a thing, pretty big, maybe, I don’t have any point of reference-”

“Mal,” Verona said.  “I know you’re joking around, but words matter right now.”

“Fine.  You did good,” Mal said, shrugging.  “It was badass, you’re pretty bad- you’re badass.  You guys got these three sitting next to each other-[...]-and working on projects together, you’ve dealt with problems inside and out. You’ve got your shop, you’ve got cool stuff going on-[...]-And a Demesne? Heck yeah. You want to say this is your town, you’ve got claim, you’re legit, you’re leading shit? Sure, yeah. That Musser guy seems like a dildo. Fuck him. Fuck his claim.” She got louder. “Fuck! Him! That’s what you threatened right!? Fuck Musser, words matter and you wanted to make that a big thing!? Endgame

Opened up The House on Half Street to various refugees fleeing Red Heron depredations.

Was part of the siege on the occupied Blue Heron Institute, while scoring several victories the Carmine Exile confronted her and unmade Mal for power when she refused to turn on Verona and her friends.<ref> - Excerpt from Go for the Throat 23.c</ref>
