Subordination 6.4 is the fourth chapter of Subordination.
Plot[edit]
Conquest is not surprised that Blake is standing up against him; of course, Blake doesn't care either since he has done as Conquest ordered despite Duncan's interference. Conquest and Fell note Blake's familiar and cabal. Meanwhile Blake tries and fails to turn Conquest against the Behaims. Rose apologizes for being forced to betray them their plan. As she works on a Binding circle for Pauz, Blake challenges Conquest to a contest. They argue for a while on why Conquest should accept or not, what the nature of Conquest is, and some potential insults if he refuses.
Eventually Conquest agrees to Blake's contest of leadership. There will be two kings, with each getting five champions. The kings will not be allowed to use their power. To win, the opposing king must be captured or killed by the their own king or champions. Plus Blake's side get a one hour head start. Midnight arrives, Pauz is released but bound as a prop, and the game begins.
Conquest chooses The Eye, The Shepherd , Laird Behaim, Diana Thompson, and the Elder Sister as his champions, while Blake chooses Rose, Fell, Pauz, Hyena, and Maggie Holt as his champions. Conquest complains about losing his servants, and Fell complains about being given a chance for rescue. With that done, Blake's Cabal hurry and leave only to find themselves still in the Spirit World. Isadora chats with them for a bit, then leaves.
Back at Blake's apartment, the young diabolist sends Maggie a message to come help. Meanwhile Rose is getting some books and Fell is clarifying the situation. Essentially, Blake's existence has upset Toronto's stability, leaving them with no other allies in the city.

- Previously Blake is shown playing on his phone.<ref>Bonds 1.1</ref> Yet here Blake no longer has a phone. One popular theory is that the phone was eaten by Ur and retroactively forgotten, with some supporting evidence in later chapters explaining why the phone wasn't erased in the first chapter.
