Signature 8.6 is the sixth chapter of Signature. Within Johannes's Demesne the checkered scarf wearing girl searches for its master. Instead she meets his slaves, child vestiges; eternal victims. Johannes appears and offers sanctuary; the girl calls her mother.

Plot[edit]

As The girl in the checkered scarf makes her way through the streets of Johannes' Demesne, she takes note of every fantastical description she comes across; from the narrowing streets to the eternal twilight to the terrifying Others and finally to the realization that the whole city is an inescapable trap. Feeling uncomfortably close to being run over, the girl detours into a nearby middle school.

The girl, having grown tired of dragging her unconscious Buttsack everywhere, decides to wake him up for an interrogation. Unsurprisingly the Goblin swears at the girl until she disciplines him into obedience. Buttsack apparently desperate to escape, agrees to obey the nameless girl for a whole year. They are interrupted by a young girl spying on them.

After a brief chase, they encounter a group of Vestige kids cowering in fear. Our protagonist slowly assures them no harm, then offers to trade them information. She explains why their world is the way it is and how their conditions are deteriorating. Johannes suddenly appears, sends the children away, and offers to help restore our nameless protagonist in exchange for her alliance and he gives her time to decide. In the interim as she decides on her answer, she is given permission by Johannes to call her mother. They talk for a long time.

Major Events[edit]
