Shaking Hands 9.z is the thirteenth chapter and the first Interlude of Shaking Hands. Tashlit attends a phantasmagorical tea party, later she sits down to chat with Rook and then goes on a trip with the trio.

At a tea party in a horrifying room blood and fire and body organs keep on switching in and out. this is due to the effects of Montague being in the dream. Tashlit is human and wearing a prom dress that she never wore, luxuriating in the sensation of having actual skin again she is interrupted by the arrival of Verona. Looking like a child.

Avery and snowdrop show up later in dresses similar to what they'll wear for the ritual. Tashlit is distraught to find out that Verona is leaving to stay with her mom.

Verona calls Lucy into the dream scaring lucy and annoying alpena disrupting her while she is about to go off on her rounds.

Tashlit talks about her backstory in more depth and outlines her family, what happened when her skin fell away how it effected her and her familt. Brought her closer to her sister Sabita who had been born an Other. Then how she went out to visit her family

Montague tries to make the dream he's influencing more comfortable. He admits he doesn't know much of his history.

in the morning Tashlit sits in on Crooked Rooks examination of the 'Composite kid', her diagnosis of him is okay at the moment. He has about three years before the universe decides what to do with him, and about 70 years before the human parts give out. Throughout this Rook showcases her viewpoint on the oppression of Others, and how they have a bad deal. Not having access to Defining Rituals like practitioners do. She also discusses her sect with the two of them as well as the political situation though she tells tashlit that if she shares this information with the girls rook will see it as a violation of her trust.

The trio arrive prepared for the ritual.

Avery opens to path to the Promenade through Tashlit's cabin, choo choo.

Tashlit saves Verona from some Path debris using her abilities and the group lands on the promenade. Tashlit is pleasantly surprised to see the large amount of ally's the trio has called on drawn together.
