Mala Fide 10.4 is the fourth chapter of Mala Fide. Despite the Thorburn's hindrances, Blake and Mags continue trying to bind a runaway wraith.
Plot[edit]
Still stressing from the awakening Molly, the Ambassador proposes an idea on how to bind her. Blake is caught off-guard by one of Molly's statement and, in trying to get further answers from her, accidently drives her off. They return to her grave, finding Molly now aware of her death and seeping negativity into her grieving family members. When Mags attempts to approach them, she is affronted by accusations of greed and murder from Aunt Irene and Callan. Blake helps defuse the situation enough for Mags to retreat and recoup a bit.
After the Walkers leave, the Wraith approaches Mags, wanting revenge for the life she lost. Denied her payback, Molly instead draws a rune in the snow and taps on Mag's power to cast a wind spell. As the two are blown back and away, the wraith vanishes yet again. The Ambassador uses a connection spell to track down Molly. Blake splits off to call on his favor from Faysal.
Not wanting to delay Blake from his crisis, the Angel Faysal supplies Blake with nourishment as per part of their deal. Blake attempts to modify the deal and get two smaller favors. The first favor is to lead Molly into a dead end whereas Blake and Mags can later trap her. The second favor takes some convincing, but ultimately is a request to bring Green Eyes out of the Abyss. That done, Faysal returns Blake to the ghost hunt.
Blake finds himself outside a café with most of his family in the midst of their scheming, Molly amidst them, and Mags watching from outside. Now knowing about Faysal's aid, Mags storms in, challenges Ellie, and throws a salt bomb to scare off Molly. The Ambassador quickly apologizes to the owner before leaving to give chase. Another tracking spell later, Blake and Mags find Molly behind the Hillglades House. Still guilt-ridden, Mags offers to take on Molly as her Familiar.
