Halloween

Halloween is a holiday that takes place on the 31st of October.

History

Other's tend to mingle more with humans during Halloween, hiding themselves among the innocents in costumes, with each location having it's own customes and traditions. As a result a truce has developed, Other's are forbidden from harming humans until the daybreak and in return they're provided with gifts.<ref>It wasn’t exactly tradition, but there was a tendency for Others to push the envelope, using costume and chaos to mingle more with humanity during Halloween. In answer, some things had been lightly formalized, in a way that differed from place to place. A truce was a big part- no Other was permitted to harm a human starting from sundown the night before Halloween until daybreak the morning after. If they couldn’t abide by that, they had to stay away, and someone gave them gifts as payment for abiding by that.

Some took it a step further, treating this as an event to let the walls down, to pretend human and Other were on a more even keel. A night to gather information, to find out what Others were local that hadn’t showed themselves. - Excerpt from Wild Abandon 18.z</ref>
