Gone and Done It 17.y is the nineteenth chapter of Gone and Done It. Wye Belanger acts as oversight and information specialist as head of the Belanger Circle, coordination briefing and debriefing the various parties involved in Mussers wider operation and the Kennet incursion specifically. He deals with the myriad issues aa new untested family head must on top of the situation in Kennet destabilizing.

Plot[edit]

Sitting in the former Demesne of Alexander, Tanner shows Wye his 'writing on the wall' which has written the words “oh no” on it in its customary blood.

Wye starts putting pieces on a board, a Magic Item Eliana Graubard had made for Alexander Belanger as part of a larger agenda, representing Kennet and the various people inside it.

Wye orders breakfast and then visits Gillian Ross, Alexander’s niece and tries to persuade her to work for him. Her mother Jen Ross appears and tries to stop him but is talked down by Wye. Nicolette comes out of her room and Wye offers to hire her as well, minimum wage which he knows she will accept given her interest in Kennet.

Wye does a card reading to assess the loyalty of Musser’s allies. Afterward, he messages Mr. Howles warning him against seeing Mrs Arland as his Lordship is more unstable than he realizes. The reading indicates that Arland will come to Howles which Wye thinks is acceptable.

After confirming that Nicolette will essentially be a neutral party given her interests in the Kennet situation Wye okays her using the dollhouse and Gillian arrives to be put on the phones. Wye gets a tie from Alexander's wardrobe and puts it on Gillian, who he sees will take quiet pride in it. Wye directs Nicolette to focus on Easton Songetay, having developed a liking for the boy. When Nicolette questions this Wye angrily launches into a story about his time at various magic schools and how he got kicked out, once for having provided some senior boys the knowledge needed for a spot of voyeurism then trying to take the blame to get cred and only got booted out.

Eloise and Elizabeth have visited the records office to find out what the rules of Kennet Found are. They learn you get a writ for not wearing a mask, having bound others, being there without permission, taking power or information from an Other or harming Kennet. The penalty is that you leave something behind, if the writ is aggravated you leave ten things behind. Niccolette chimes in with some details she's read on Lost.

Jen comes in and interrupts the explanation of the rules of Kennet Found wanting Gillien to stick up for herself. Jen keeps interfering and Wye calls her over to talk to her, and gets annoyed when it turns out that Jen used the wrong bathroom in Blue Heron which may lead to him getting gainsaied.

They use the dollhouse to spy on Anthem’s meeting with Miss. Miss explains the writs are enforced via karma then she gives an open pass to Liberty and Nicolette and asks Wye to talk to them first.

Concurrently Wye said he wants Jen removed as the family member responsible for keeping track of family business and sorting out marriages because she’s become out of touch. Nicolette opines that it’s because Jen’s not kept up to date with events so she's asserting what power she has.

A Cavendar woman comes over and says their going to attempt something, despite the strenuous objections of Nicolette and Wye. Anthem attempts to push past the Law by using violence, citing the right of trail by combat. He shoots Miss despite warnings from Wye and Nicolette, gaining dozens of writs in response. The Ballerina appears, attacking Anthem and Wye closes the connection.

The board has now started bleeding, flowing from Kennet Found to Kennet Below. Tanner and Wye do a reading and discover that Anthem will likely kill Miss but Musser will still succeed. Needing More Help he negotiates with Jen to get more help contacting the practitioners trapped in Kennet found. Tanner's wall now says “still oh no” then changes to “she is naked and glorious and forever soaked in blood”.

Nicolette uses the doll house to see Verona talking to Maricica with a black nail embedded inside her, transformed into something else.

The Carmine Exile appears, he makes Wye an offer. Either to destroy everything he’s been working on, damage his relationship with his family and Musser and kill several of his allies. Alternately he can win this contest and prosper. He says that after he’s finished explaining Wye will pick the former.
