Cutting Class 6.5 is the fifth chapter of Cutting Class. Avery sees the importance of professional respect amoung teachers.
Plot[edit]
Verona Hayward shows Avery Kelly her ideas regarding an implement for Lucy Ellingson. She's thinking whatever Lucy Ellingson chooses, they give it to her, infused with things from themselves. Then a scene of a class on coup/claim/possession, with Alexander Belanger. The girls win a ticket to decide which Faerie court they'll all visit on the next field trip. Verona Hayward and Lucy Ellingson make fun of Avery Kelly about Fernanda. Avery Kelly apologizes to Verona Hayward about the prank of liking a photo of Jeremy Clifford on Verona Hayward's phone. The girls go to witness the ritual for Jessica to find her cousin's echo. Everything's going great until Shellie Alitzer comes and disturbs the ritual before Jessica can bring the echo back. Jessica storms out furious. Shellie Alitzer gives some message to Nicolette, who looks very concerned after. Avery Kelly confronts Shellie Alitzer but Verona Hayward gets her to back down, pointing out that Shellie Alitzer, as a counter to Faerie, is anathema to making deals, understanding the others position, etc. The girls decide not to go back to Alexander Belanger so as not to feel like his pawns in this war.
