Barbie Kingston is Lucy's grandmother.

Personality[edit]

She doesn't like being called Grandma.<ref name=":0">“Not just queer,” Jasmine said.  “Barbie and Ran, that’s Lucy’s dad’s parents, they go by those names because they didn’t want to be called grandma and grandpa-”

“What’s this about Barbie and Ran?” Lucy asked, as she came down the stairs.  Jessica followed.

“They knew each other three days, then got married.  Different times.”

- Excerpt from Summer Break 13.3</ref> Her and her husband are very well off.<ref name=":1">“It’s a weird family.  Barbie inherited a good bit of money from her dad, trusted Ran with it so he and a friend could start up a business, business got bought, they came out way ahead.  Helped start up another, that didn’t get bought but there was something with stocks you got working for the company, it’s like… they could never earn another dollar, and they could live happy off their savings for the rest of their lives.  And they could have zero savings and live off the dividends from those stocks and stuff and they’d be fine.  But they have both.”- Excerpt from In Absentia 21.2</ref> Owning a house ing Canada, another in California, a cabin and three fourths of a house they brought for her adopted daughter Renee.<ref>“House in Canada, house here,” Avery said.

“And a cabin, and like, seventy-five percent of a house that was gifted to my Aunt Renee when she started her family,” Lucy said.  “Which kind of rubbed a lot of the rest of us the wrong way, because, like… nice for Renee, I think Martie got something but he was smart enough not to give away anything.- Excerpt from In Absentia 21.2</ref>

Relationships[edit]

She married Randy after only knowing them for three days.<ref name=":0" />

They own, or used to own, a dog.<ref>resembled the smell from when Barbie and Ran’s dog had eaten an entire cheesecake and butt-vomited it all over the back bedroom.- Excerpt from Out on a Limb 3.8</ref>

Her and Ran fell out of touch with Lucy and her mom after Lucy's father died.<ref>Not that Barbie and Ran really invited them over or had them over much since Lucy’s dad had died.- Excerpt from One After Another 10.3</ref> She still sends them a letter every year.<ref>“My grandma’s okay,” Lucy said, thinking of Barbie and Ran.  Her dad’s parents.  “Sends a letter every year.”- Excerpt from False Moves 12.5</ref>

Appearance[edit]

White skinned with white frizzy hair that still retained streaks of black. Thin and tanned and dressed in loose flowing clothes.<ref>The woman was white, and had frizzy hair that was white with dark gray still running through it.  She was thin, more naturally tanned, and dressed a bit like a hippie, with the loose flowing clothes.- Excerpt from In Absentia 21.2</ref>

Chronology[edit]

In the alternate universe created when the trio had challenged Abraham Musser Barbie and Ran took Lucy in after her mom struggled to cope with her husband dying.<ref>Her mom hadn’t coped after her dad had died so Barbie and Ran had taken her in, and they’d been cold.  Removed.- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.17</ref> Inherited money after her dad passed away, investing it into her husbands company. After selling it they helped set up another business.<ref name=":1" />

The Trio visited after fleeing Kennet and found a Cuimrech watch them in case they drop appear. She called Jasmine after catching a glimpse of Lucy.<ref>“Barbie called Mom,” Lucy said, leaning back against the fence, head turned so her earring was close to the diagram.  “I’m listening.  She was just saying she thought she saw a ghost.- Excerpt from In Absentia 21.2</ref>
