Fall Out 14.z is the seventh chapter of Fall Out.

Plot

Basil Winter, a former student, goes to the Blue Heron Institute to meet with Musser, in return Musser agrees to pass a message to Ray. He introduces Basil to Raquel and she gets food for them. After she leaves Musser suggests the two of them marrying in exchange for more influence in London (Ontario).

Braxton Hart the goblin king arrives.

Raquel and Basil talk alone, she already suspects she’s to marry him, he asks her want she wants and she answers to not be treated like a servant and to spend more time with her friends. Basil reveals he’s not interested in marrying her, Raquel wonders if he’ll stay kind to her.

Marlen, an old friend of Basil’s, walks in. Liberty comes in to hug her dad before leaving. Other guests arrive and Abraham introduces everyone. Hugh Legendre, Florin Pesch, Anthem Woodward Tedd, Grayson Hennigar, Braxton Hart, Tanner Gilpin, Basil Winters, Marlen Roy, Elizabeth Driscoll are all present.

Musser explains the situation and his plan to divide up the Carmines territory by taking as many Lordships as possible then sell them to the highest bidder. The other Lords are unaware of the plan, Florin and Hugh are worried about the response from the Lord of Thunderbay but agree to stay silent.

Basil steals a glance at Tanner and Nicolette readings and learns that they need Florin for the early stages and that either Grayson Hennigar will lose a son or Musser will lose the Blue Heron Institute.

Musser calls a break and Basil finds a place Ray had used as a camera and tries to send a Buggane to steal his data but Musser interrupts him. Basil asks Musser to give Raquel more time with her friends and less time serving him.

Anthem Tedd declares himself Lord of the small town of Nipigon, killing off the few that oppose him. Sacrificing animals to accelerate the three days the ritual takes.

A few days later Milly Legendre starts another ritual only of the Carmine Exile to appear and gainsay her for four hundred and thirty six minor lies and preventing her from practising for four hundred and thirty six days. He then gainsays Marlen for eighty six falsehoods, when she leave on her motorcycle he threatens to manifest Ohers along her path.

Milky says she has three Other recently locked away that might escape, one of which is near a Lordship their claiming.

Basil offer to do the lordship ritual in her place. During a fight he’s cut by a goblin and the wound begins to fester. An oni appears and challenges him, she proposes a shell game with three boxes, one contains an Other, one a trap and one a poultice that will heal him. He get his Bugge’s to open a cage and the Dog Meat is released, attacking him. He opens another cage and finds the poultice using it to heal himself. Rook leaves.

It’s revealed that Rook hide Bridge under the poultice and he has taken over Basil’s body.
