Fall Out 14.4 is the fourth chapter of Fall Out.

Plot

Avery gets ready for school and says good morning to her family. Jude asks her if she wants to run a Path together and sends her details of The Build Up, they discusses details and the various boons.

Her mum asks how Verona is and suggests asking Sylvia over for dinner.

At school Avery talks to Jeanine and Oli about sports. Avery and Jeanine head to the lockers and Jeanine starts flirting with Avery and asks her out on a date but the bell for class rings before they can finalise things.

As Avery opens her locker some paper with scribbles on falls out, it’s a message from Ashumare Ashumare saying Deb’s wants to meet with her.

Deb’s asks her to see to a dabbler named Frank that’s entered without permission. Avery finds her on the roof performing a curse on her former boss, after talking she discovers that Frank only awakened a few days ago. She tells Avery that she urinated on a picture then set fire to it whilst it was surrounded by stones and a man in red appeared and gave her instructions. Avery gets them to agree to present themselves to the Lord and not practice until then in the hopes that they’ll let Frank stay.

Avery is playing lacrosse with Jeanine and coach Artrip, watched by her mother.

Later Avery is at the meeting with the Lord, Thunder Bay Council and Frank. Hugh Legendre is there, as is Odis, Ann and Florin.

Odis asks if Avery will take responsibility for her, Florin warns her that it’s a trap Avery avoids it. Florin tells Avery about Odis’ practice, putting people on buses and stealing parts of people that enjoy hurting Others.

Avery says the diagram Frank made would have extended outwards and speculates it would have hurt the people surrounding Franks boss, she compares it to a bomb. Avery thinks that the Carmine Exile was trying to target someone in Thunder Bay, Florin agrees to look into it.

Florin speculates that Frank might have had some level of Awareness before the Carmine approached her, Avery thinks maybe Maricica is involved somehow.

After they leave the underwater chamber Avery talks to Florin about his practice, using doppelgängers and Jockeys to target people and take them over. She also inquires into his relationship with Musser and if he was ordered by him to help clean out Kennet.

Back in class Avery a girl named Nora warns her to be wary of Jeanie, saying she has a history of drama.
