Spirit World
The Spirit World is one of several trans-mundane "realities" or "layers" that overlap with the physical world. Anything done to things in the Spirit World will happen in the real world, with the world working out how to do so through contrived coincidence.<ref>Subordination 6.8</ref>
Blake stepped into the spirit world at one point but thanks to his connections he didn't fall into the abyss.<ref>Conviction 5.3</ref>
Breaking the spirit world counterpart of and object can prohibit its use by an other but will likely lead to the destruction of a real world counterpart.<ref>“Your other friends are occupied or caught in traps by Duncan and his sons, Rose is bound indoors, and I’ve broken most of the available and useful reflective surfaces in the spirit world. Things are going to find an excuse to break in the real world in the coming days and weeks, but we can cross that bridge when it comes.”
“Sounds like bad karma,” I said. “Giving the universe a lot of menial work to do to keep everything coordinated.”
“Well,” Laird said, “I’m hoping to make it up to the universe.” - Excerpt from Subordination 6.12</ref> This likely causes some form of bad Karma.
Has some abstract relation with reality. Finder/Chaos Mages commonly work with the spirit world. <ref>- Excerpt from [2.7 spoilers] Location Diary</ref>
As with all places it depends on where the spirit world is to
Known Residents

- Incarnate
- Mouir<ref>The Mouir is wildlife of the spirit world's borders, a physical spirit that takes on physical characteristics of the world it borders. A collector of the more physical detritus and scraps of the spirit world, the Mouir gathers what can't survive or 'live' into nesting and what can survive is given a place to reside that establishes community and purpose for each scrap, while allowing them to form into something more uniform. One might guard or carry a nest of hair, while another could do the same for piled skulls or leafless forest. Residents could appear as tiny humans or vague bloblike birds. Forms of the Mouir, as in most things spiritual, are extremely variable, ranging from turtlelike hulks to birds that only graze the ground to collect scraps.
A Mouir feeds to some degree on the purpose of its own existence, and on the community it fosters. More coherent spirits may feed it for keeping areas clean of the physical scraps that get trekked in (which makes spiritual movements swift and unimpeded, and prevents damming), or may take a Mouir under their wing as a servant or pet. Some may reward the Mouir with meals in exchange for handling tasks - which usually amounts to arriving at a location and unleashing their nestlings on the problem. - Wildbow on Discord</ref> - Others that collect the physical detritus that comes into the Spirit world, crafting cities with the junk as a refuge. Variable as all is in the spirit world.
