Go for the Throat 23.9 is the thirteenth chapter of Go for the Throat.

Plot

Verona works to construct a large diagram outside the Kennet Arena with the help of Julette, Alexanderp, and her two unnamed homunculi. She hopes that the diagram can help stabilize Kennett Below as it collapses through Kennett Above.

Lis appears and tells Verona that the diagram won't work, in part due to the lack of an available power source.

Avery arrives and checks in with Verona, until they are interrupted by two unfamiliar Others. The others battle Avery and Verona until Verona is able to negotiate a short ceasefire. They reveal that they were indirectly sent by the Aurum Coil to deal with Alexanderp. When the battle resumes, the Others pursue Verona and Avery into the Arena, where Verona leverages innocents to gain the upper hand.

After leaving the Arena, Harri arrives and helps force the Others to flee while Nomi tells Verona about the situation around Kennet

Avery leaves to talk to Louise about the girl's plan to make Kennet aware.

Verona gathers innocents around the arena and reveals the existence of magic to a large group of residents. Lis warns Verona of the potential consequences of making Kennet aware before Verona leaves to have a conversation with her mom.
