Loser

The Loser practice is a branch of Lost practice, which collectively deals with people, or things, who have become utterly Lost, untethered from reality.<ref>“You should know this stuff if you’re going to be a good Loser. Gotta know what those problems are before you engage with ’em.” - Excerpt from In Absentia 21.10</ref> Loser practice is the polar opposite of Finder practice: where the latter brings people, or things, from the Paths to Earth, Loser practice banishes them from Earth to the Paths.<ref>“Sheridan, you shouldn’t just pick a practice because it has a funny name,” Avery said.

Methodology

In one Loser ritual, a person is framed by four significant items. An invocation is spoken, tying the person to the items, and ultimately telling them to "get lost". If the invocation is successfully completed, the target is sent to the Forest Ribbon Trail, with an equivalent volume of branches and ribbons replacing their physical body.<ref name="GetLostRitual">“Across bloodless stone and boneless thorn, twixt unspeaking tree and ribbons unseeing. Hand in paw, go walk the forest ribbon trail with your head up your ass, Lenard Lily,” Sheridan intoned. “Framed by deep Abyss snailshell, black wood, sexless Sven doll, and tuft of red pube, get lost.”

Lenard, twisting around, looked up at the black snail shell that was floating above his left shoulder, then the black wood above his right. There were two more objects Avery couldn’t see with her angle and position.
