From Pact Wiki
(Redirected from Hailey McKay)

List of students in the combined Grade 8/9 class at Louis Riel Public School, the year the protagonists of Pale are in, during the 2019-2020 academic year.

Adam[edit]

Was at the party, sitting on a bench near the fire with Caroline.<ref name=":7">There was other stuff, ranging from the wild to the tame.  Adam and Caroline were sitting on a bench by the fire, looking very cozy.  Andre was rolling on the ground, hollering, while his friends jeered.  He’d done something as a prank or to hurt himself, and it was apparently hilarious to those guys. - Excerpt from Leaving a Mark 4.2</ref>

Alayna Weagle[edit]

Appeared in the Class_RankR app. Only recieved one "like", as someone's second choice. Her avatar has hands holding a crucifix.<ref name=":2">Flyer & App</ref> She teased Gabe for his rollerskating on his first day of school.<ref name=":4">Lost for Words 1.z</ref> Has a summer home in Brooklyn.<ref>Girls were chattering, making plans for lunch, and talking about a television show.  Pam was talking about summer plans, and Alayna was describing her family’s cottage to Brooklynn. - Excerpt from Out on a Limb 3.2</ref> Pam claimed she was one of the "kids left over when everyone else has found a group".<ref name=":6">“I didn’t really fit in to begin with,” Melissa said.  “They think I’m annoying, but I tried hard, I was the smallest and lightest, so I was essential if they wanted a good flyer for the junior cheerleading team.  They had to include me.  Now they don’t.”

Lucy switched shoes.  “I think the lower you find yourself on the totem pole, the more important it is to hold your head up high and make your voice heard.”

“Oh?” Melissa asked.  “Is that your sage wisdom, as one of the three kids left over when everyone else has found a group?”

Woah,” Verona said, behind Lucy.  “Talking like that is one way to tank the goodwill you have.”

“And those kids are me and Alayna,” Pam said.  “Not Lucy and Verona.  Especially not Avery.”

“Ow,” Alayna said, placing a hand over her heart, her head lolling back.  “My pride.” - Excerpt from Out on a Limb 3.2</ref>

Alexa Duff[edit]

Appeared in the Class_RankR app. Only received one "like", as someone's second choice. Her avatar was a girl dancing.<ref name=":2" /> Bested by Avery in basketball, seen chatting with Melissa afterwards.<ref name=":3">Lost for Words 1.7</ref>

Amadeus Kent[edit]

Long black hair, with a dimple on his chin. Interested in science and computers, but contrary to stereotypes, he's arguably the most popular boy in class. Lucy considers him cute<ref name=":1">Lost for Words 1.6</ref> and he was her top pick on the Class_RankR app.<ref name=":0">Lost for Words 1.1</ref>

Avery Kelly[edit]

Main article: Avery Kelly

Brayden Black<ref name="wog-student-list"/>[edit]

Fouled by Logan in gym.<ref name=":3" /> Was one of the few boys in the class who received a sizeable amount of votes on Class_RankR. <ref>Sharon liked George, it seemed.  That was going to be a whole thing.  The girls in their class had been pretty ruthless with the voting; only a few guys had gotten any votes at all, and it had mostly been George, Amadeus, Brayden and Xavier.  One second-choice vote for Logan, but Logan could have shared a common ancestor with Gashwad, as far as Verona was concerned. - Excerpt from Leaving a Mark 4.2</ref> His dad runs a lcoal clothing store.<ref>“You’d get your old stock. Winter jackets that didn’t sell, gloves, whatever, take them a few blocks over, set up in a stall. We can have one ready for you. I can pretty much guarantee you’ll sell out.”- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.15</ref>

Brooklynn McLeish[edit]

Appeared in the Class_RankR app. Only received one "like", as someone's second choice. Her avatar was a rainbow.<ref name=":2" />

Bryan Rawlins<ref name="wog-student-list"/>[edit]

Seen in gym.<ref name=":3" />

Bryon[edit]

Was mentioned as one of many boys in the class with similar sounding names. <ref name=":8">Verona wanted to slap every parent upside the head for the unimaginative names.  Their class had a Brayden, Byron, Bryson, and a Bryan.  Brooklynn too, but that was borderline. - Excerpt from Leaving a Mark 4.2</ref>

Bryson Whitehead<ref name="wog-student-list"/>[edit]

Was mentioned as one of many boys in the class with similar sounding names. <ref name=":8" />

Caroline Gray[edit]

Appeared in the Class_RankR app. Only received one "like", but as someone's first choice. Her avatar was her face, pale with dark curly hair.<ref name=":2" /> Was unable to read the lettering on the Hungry Choir's flyer while Gabe could, presumably because it considers her a poor target.<ref name=":3" />

Is a big equestrian,<ref>Out on a Limb 3.9</ref><ref>One After Another 10.2</ref> has started dating jeremy after his break-up with Verona.<ref>Wild Abandon 18.6</ref>

Emerson Peart[edit]

Liked by several people on Class_RankR. Avatar was her face, blonde and smiling.<ref name=":2" /> Frustrated when she was bested by Avery at basketball.<ref name=":3" />

Gabriel "Gabe" J. Necaise[edit]

Main article: Gabriel Necaise

Formerly a student in the Trio's class, Gabe became a victim of the Hungry Choir and was erased from human memory.

George Mason[edit]

Lucy's second pick on Class_RankR; "pretty popular" according to Avery.<ref name=":0" /> and Lucy. Lucy suspects he's on his way to becoming a stoner.<ref name=":1" /> Verona found him the most attractive in their class, and noted a lot of others did too, including Hailey and Sharon.<ref name=":5">Lost for Words 1.8</ref>

Hailey McKay[edit]

A dancer who was sent to pester Lucy about joining.<ref name=":1" /> Recieved a lot of likes on Class_RankR; her avatar was her face, blonde and smiling.<ref name=":2" /> Good at basketball and plays regularly.<ref name=":3" /> Appears to have made an early claim on George. <ref>Which meant there was a ton of competition for those guys, and it looked an awful lot like Hailey had made an early claim to George. - Excerpt from Leaving a Mark 4.2</ref>

Stole Verona's bag along with Melissa.<ref>Leaving a Mark 4.3</ref>

Ian Dobson<ref name="wog-student-list"/>[edit]

Seen in gym.<ref name=":3" /> Is LGBT<ref>But ever since, they hadn’t really had one-on-one talks.  Bits of advice, yes, but always brief.  Or slightly longer talks, if Ms. Hardy was going somewhere or Avery was going somewhere, and they happened to cross paths.  If the conversation continued for more than a couple of minutes, Avery got this.  The deflection, the guardedness of it, where Ms. Hardy would want to make it a group discussion instead.  Mr. Lai had a gay brother and was Ms. Hardy’s friend, so he was usually the person there.  Ms. Hardy and Mr. Lai had something like a general LGBT student group where Ian, Justin, and Noah from her class and a larger group of the older teenagers and their friends would go talk with the teachers as referees.

-Stolen Away, 2.5 </ref>, and went to the party with Noah, later being seen sitting with him. <ref name=":9">She had to look for a minute before she spotted Jeremy sitting by the fire with Justin, talking. Noah and Ian were sitting on the next bench over. It was nice to see they weren’t getting shit, even though they were sitting so close together it might as well have been PDA. - Excerpt Leaving a Mark 4.2</ref>

Jeremy Clifford[edit]

Main article: Jeremy Clifford

Nerdy and unpopular boy. He and Verona become friends, bonding over taking care of Jeremy's cat Sir. They form a relationship that is not clearly defined, even among themselves.

Justin Henderson<ref name="wog-student-list"/>[edit]

Was sitting with Jeremy by the fire at the party.<ref name=":9" />

Kyleigh Miller[edit]

Several boys' first pick on Class_RankR. Her avatar was flowers.<ref name=":2" />

Logan Wasselman[edit]

Messy handwriting. Fought Lucy as a kid over whether boys or girls were better, then told a teacher she had bullied him so she got in trouble.<ref name=":1" /> Fouled Bryden in gym.<ref name=":3" />

Lucy Ellingson[edit]

Main article: Lucy Ellingson

Melissa Oakham[edit]

Main article: Melissa Oakham

Formerly part of the Dancers and several sports team. After a series of events involving a major injury to her ankle and an attempt to steal Verona's bag, she became Aware.

Mia Campbell-St. James[edit]

Top ranked on Class_RankR; avatar shows her with dark hair, wearing black.<ref name=":2" /> Wears makeup.<ref name=":3" />

Accused Verona of looking down on the dancers because she wouldn't join.<ref name=":1" /> Avery noted that she could be exceptionally adult and put-together. Figured out Avery was gay, and reached out to assure her it was ok with her and her friends.<ref name=":3" />

Noah Sauve<ref name="wog-student-list"/>[edit]

An LGBT boy who was seen sitting close to Ian at the party.<ref name=":9" /> Avery doesn't particularly like him. <ref>Avery didn’t even really like Ian and Noah, felt iffy on Justin, and being around the older teenagers made her feel like she was sitting through dinner with her family, except she didn’t even know them or feel any familiarity.  She’d gone once and didn’t feel eager to go again.  It wasn’t what she wanted or needed. - Excerpt from Stolen Away 2.5</ref>

Pamela O’Neill[edit]

Main article: Pamela O'Neill

Sometimes called Pam for short.<ref name=":3" />

Mildly overweight/curvy.<ref name=":0" /><ref name=":3" /> Changes sher hair color regularly.<ref name=":3" />

Avery has a long-standing crush on her, and was the only one to "like" her on Class_RankR.<ref name=":0" /><ref name=":2" /><ref name=":3" /> Her avatar on Class_RankR was a cartoon baby chick.<ref name=":2" /> Considered soft by Lucy. Into art.<ref name=":1" />

Avery and Lucy both agree she's the nicest girl in class.<ref name=":0" /> She gives out a lot of compliments and positive remarks, and smiles the most of anyone in the class.<ref name=":3" />

Savannah Pehrson[edit]

She switched class when the school lost students. Plays soccer with Avery. Physically attractive and possibly romantically interested in Wallace.<ref>Savannah Pehrson. She’d been in the other class in their grade last year, but when the school had lost students in the wake of summer, she’d joined their class. She’d been on Avery’s soccer team. Pretty. - Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>

Sharon Maddocks[edit]

Into art, and a dancer.<ref name=":1" /> Recieved a couple of likes on Class_RankR. Her avatar shows her smiling, with dark hair.<ref name=":2" />

Verona Hayward[edit]

Main article: Verona Hayward

Wallace Davis[edit]

Main article: Wallace Davis

Blonde-white hair.<ref name=":5" /> He wore a raglan top with silver print on it, as well as skinny jeans, to the party. <ref>She looked out for the boys she was more interested in, and saw Wallace around.  Hair so blond it was almost white, with that raglan top with the silver print on it, and skinny jeans.  He’d done good.  Guys had a low bar to meet, and he’d easily cleared it. - Excerpt from Leaving a Mark 4.2</ref>

Received only a pity vote from Verona on Class_RankR.<ref name=":0" /> A gamer.<ref name=":1" /> Excused from gym.<ref name=":3" /> His mother has a degenerative nerve disease, and he worries he may develop it too he already deals with weak joints and elbows.<ref>“I wanted to ask,” Avery said. “What’s the deal with Wallace’s arm? He said his other was fragile too or something?”

“He lost the genetic lottery,” Jeremy said. “I don’t mean that in a mean way. He’s had to have surgery on the one elbow twice, because there’s something in how it’s put together that makes it dislocate really easy. Same problem with his shoulder, but that’s easier to fix. But he’s popped it in and out so many times it’s even easier to dislocate, so he’s gotta get surgery sometime in the next few years, to try to lock it in.”

“Shitty,” Avery said.

“He’s got other stuff too, right?” Verona asked. “A nerve thing?”

“Yeah. His mom’s got a thing that has her in a wheelchair half the time, and it looks like he’s probably going to get it. A nervous system thing. Passes out, gets seizures, cramps like a charlie horse except they don’t stop for hours.”

“He’s a cool guy, lives at the end of my street,” Verona said. “It’s obvious they’re a really nice family, he loves his mom, and they do this volunteer stuff, and travel for marathons. Wish it didn’t suck so much for him.” - Excerpt from Leaving a Mark 4.3</ref>

Xavier Cope[edit]

Appeared in gym.<ref name=":3" />
