Conviction 5.3 is the third chapter of Conviction. Blake tries to fill Rose Duncan tries to capture them. Blake almsot falls into the spirit world; Evan decides to become Blake's familiar.
Plot[edit]
Still suffering from a massive loss of blood, Blake ruminates on who he, Blake, is. Evan leads the way out as Blake stumbles through the jail and into the stairway. Meanwhile Rose keeps him focused on reality, just in time to cast a hide spell from passing officers. As they continue down the stairs, Blake explains what has happened thus far to Rose. Before long, they realize they've been trapped in another loop.
Evan finds the runes trapping them, but is unable to break them. Rose scouts around, but finds nothing useful. Blake comes up with a plan to have Rose break the window. It works. Blake quickly draws a wind + durability rune on his shirt, then jumps out the window... and falls back into the stairway, with Duncan Behaim waiting the top. They battle, with Blake emerging victorious as he gives up more blood to jump out a third story window.
Upon recovering from his landing, Blake finds out from Rose that he lost too much of himself and might've landed in the Spirit World. They agree to go back inside to retrieve their items. However Blake instead detours to the morgue and chooses to ask Evan to be his familiar. Over the objections of Rose. Even agrees and the chapter ends with them beginning the ritual.

- Having defeated Blakes first escape attempt Duncan tries for a second.
Trivia[edit]
- Even is missidentified as a ghost. He apparently kept his 'soul' or conciousness because whatever was supposed to collect him was scared of by the hyena.
- Blake refrences the Wizard of Oz while playing with wind.
