There is a final way, enter a pact with a being of higher power e.g an angel.

I forget the exact wording of it, but Faysal Anwar offered to make remove any barriers between the drains and the human realm for Blake(rendering him effectively immortal), though Blake did refuse due to it conflicting with his loyalty.
