Titans are physically large beings that land somewhere between primevals and gods, both historically and in their nature. They are composed of Elemental power and have dominion over these elements. They can be considered deific creatures, being akin to gods before being left behind.

History

Before the seal, and before the age of gods, primevals existed as extremely powerful animalistic beings. But as humanity slowly grew as a species, so did their understanding of the world. The unknown gave way to human concepts such as farming, seasons, and the elements, and with it came faith in those things. Titans were the firstborn of such faith, and existed as rough-edged precursors to ancient gods. They existed as a middle step between the ancient, primal world and the world of modern humanity, and predate concepts such as Law. There is a theory that Titans were once primevals who took on parallels of humanity, becoming something more understandable.

Eventually, as humanity grew, they began to codify the world and create gods. The Titans did not, or were unable to, keep up with humanity and were left behind as a result. They were overwhelmed and defeated by the divinities and higher powers of the world, and many of the remaining ones are sequestered in unreachable realms or recovering from wounds millennia later.

Abilities

Titans may be more individually powerful than gods, depending on their nature. Titans, being composed of elements, have control over such things. When an Alchemically-Made Titan was born, it's birth granted it dominion over the surrounding storm. It used this power to devastating effect, controlling the wind, ice, and lightning of it in a directed manner. Some Titans may only be able to see in terms of the flow of these elements, as the Alchemical Titan seemed to react to the appearance of fire better than it did with sight.

Creation

At least one titan was created through the usage of Alchemy. It was composed of rare and hard to find materials (collected by a Dragonslayer) and formed with a "Frame" that it broke out of when born. An interruption in the ritual caused it to be somewhat uncontrollable by its creators. The Alchemical Titan proved to be extremely wrathful in nature, and seems to be acting on instinct and the guidance of its creators alone. It rapidly matured from a fetus to a young man in a short span of time, indicating a heightened growth rate.
