Ashumare Ashumare, naughty naughty Ashumare<ref>“Ashumare Ashumare, naughty naughty Ashumare.”
“Wat?” Verona asked.
“Apparently their full name.”
“Is naughty naughty their middle name, or is it the second Ashumare? How do you put that together?” - Excerpt from In Absentia 21.2</ref> is an Other and a member of the Thunder Bay Council.
Personality[edit]
Strange, deals with children to some extent. Not the best at contributing to the council.<ref name=":1"/><ref name=":2">Ashumare Ashumare
Ashumare Ashumare, why won’t anyone give me the story here? It’s not even some secret about the child bones in Ashumare because some locals here would probably relish throwing me off my game by throwing that at me. Might have to do with the fact A.A. is maybe a living story that become an accidental practice. Dangerous story to share?
Vibe: Going to play nice and play along, keep my eyes open.
Power: 2-7 (Hard to say.)
Connect: 2-3
T.Bay: 2-3
Kennet: 0-1
Heron: 0-3 (No interest except likes kids, I guess?)
Musser: 0

Children[edit]
While his exact situation is unknown he seems to have come from children in some way and now may be a predator or protector.<ref name=":2"/>
Description[edit]
Ashumare Ashumare is a silhouette made out of three-dimensional pencil scribbles of a person in a rabbit costume.<ref name=":0">The figure, which appeared to be a human-shaped silhouette, stepped forward, and as it did, it became clear that the silhouette was almost all of what it was. It looked like a three-dimensional pencil-scribbling –violent pencil scribbling- of a person in a rabbit costume, but the face wasn’t filled in, making it look like a wide open mouth.
“Ashumare Ashumare,” Its voice was musical, but in a way like it was run through a program to sound that way, everything smoothed out. It waved its arms a bit in time with words, “fuzzy to hug and sweet to hear, yet I get blamed for things little girls and boys do. Do you see me?”
Avery started to answer, and Snowdrop squeezed her hand.
She used her Opossum sight, seeing as Lost could.
She saw an arrangement of very small bones, loosely collected together in the shape of adult bones- three broken skulls pressed in together for the upper skull, forearm bones for the rabbit ears, two jaws, each rib was three or four smaller ribs lashed together.
She used her regular Sight, and the black handprints meshed in so close together that the figure really did look like a person wearing a black-furred rabbit costume, with a gentle face and eyes that were only mist.- Excerpt from Fall Out 14.1</ref> In Snowdrop's sight it appears as a collection of bones pressed together.
Its voice is musical and sing-song, as if it had been put through an auto tuner.<ref name=":0" />
Abilities[edit]
Can apparently communicate through paper and television, away from the eyes of innocents of course.<ref>She pulled out a blank spell card and wrote a message.
“Ashumare Ashumare,” she murmured. “Tell the Lord I’ve got something to say.”
Strong wind tugged at the paper. It slapped against the side of the house, and Avery could see the pencil-scribbled rabbit shape there, eyeless, with that smudge of a smile.
She blinked, and the image was gone, as was the paper.
[...]
The television was muted but left on, now playing commercials. It buzzed, brightened, hummed, and then cut to another commercial. A bunch of kids were in the vicinity of a rabbit person made of scribbles, but they were frozen into place, put on pause, desaturated.
“Ashumare, Ashumare,” the rabbit said, turning to Avery. “Say what you will and what you may. To our Lord’s ears I shall relay.”
Avery looked around. “I don’t have time to rhyme. It seems Florin is making his move for the Lordship.”
The more animated Ashumare Ashumare was in the frozen scene, the more it felt like the cartoon children weren’t put on pause, but were dead, instead. “Ashumare Ashumare, is that it and is that all? If it’s true then expect a brawl.”
“It’s true,” Avery murmured. “And I don’t want a brawl. I’m going to ask for a favor. Hold off on acting. I’ll-”
She heard a creak upstairs.
Ashumare Ashumare disappeared.
“Negotiate with her later tonight,” Avery murmured, throwing the bag over her shoulder. She paused and looked at the screen. “Since it’s awkward to get, do you think you or the Lord could get your hands on a folding table?”
Ashumare Ashumare’s face briefly appeared superimposed over a logo in the commercial, smiling wide. The words dissolved into scribbles. A moment later, the scribbles were gone and the letters normal.
- Excerpt from Left in the Dust 16.8</ref> Always speaks in rhyme and it's best to communicate to him with such.
Chronology[edit]
Bloody Days[edit]
It supported Avery moving to Thunder Bay after Avery told it that she saw Abraham Musser's psychopomp familiar as a pretty young women.<ref name=":1">Ashumare dropped their arms to their sides. They were still but the violent pencil scribblings weren’t. They spoke, still musical. “Abraham with the cracked glasses has a friend who isn’t his, a guide to spirits, painted in pretty colors. Ashumare Ashumare, say what she looks like.”
[...]
“Musser stole a Daena familiar. A Zoroastrian psychopomp. When seen by wrongdoers and murderers, she appears ugly, and she condemns them to eternal wandering. Others she guides as a psychopomp will.”
“Bit crude,” Ann Wint said. “I don’t like black and white tests of character.”
“It’s better than most of Ashumare Ashumare’s contributions,” [Nicole Scobie] said, a bit sour. - Excerpt from Fall Out 14.1</ref>
