Father Kabek Gobar is an Other created by someone at St. Victors.

Relationships

Wallace identified him as Father Kebek Gobar from Void Opera.<ref>“Father Kabek Gobar, from Void Opera, he was the focus of Black Cadenza DLC, and one possible villain faction in Void Opera, Act Two.”

“A video game?”

“Yeah. The DLC came out last spring, Void Opera Act Two is out for Christmas. Why are you asking this?”- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>

Appearance

It's an alien looking Other, eyeless, with a misshapen head, purple black skin and a lipless mouth lined with fanged teeth. It has a long neck and a halo with leaf shaped bits of metal attached to it. It wears an open robe and has legs similar to a chickens.<ref>It looked like an alien. Eyeless, which made Lucy think of the wildlife of the Ruins, but little else jibed with that. Its head was misshapen, like purple-black skin had been pulled over a bicycle seat, the pointed end stretching down to a gumline of a set of teeth with fangs, hollow indents at the sides like eyes might go there, if it had eyes. Its neck was long, and it had a golden halo studded with leaf-shaped bits of metal at the top, left, right, and bottom-most points. It wore a robe like some alien priest, body large, but open at the front, and none of the way it was put together made a lot of sense, with legs like chicken wings covered in that purple-black skin, draped with more black cloth at the lengthy points…- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.2</ref>

It smells of burned air and is surrounded by the sound of buzzing.<ref>It smelled like the air had burned around it, but it gave off little or nothing of that sort. The buzzing was more intense, now that she was close- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.2</ref>

Abilities

  • It's able to teleport at will.<ref>The Other flickered again, as if it existed at the whim of a light switch, and someone had jittered it on-off a few times in the span of a second. It disappeared.

Lucy felt the change in the air, and heard the whoosh before she even saw the change in lighting, and stepped to one side, half-turning- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.2</ref>
  • It electrocutes anything it touches<ref>They were armed with knives, but didn’t electrocute on touch like the big one did, thankfully.- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>, even being able to permanently kill the dogtags.<ref>“Because it will kill them.”

    “They come back.”

“Not if that thing gets them.”- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.2</ref> It is also resistant to electricity.<ref>But the big Other wasn’t especially bothered by the electricity, it could brush past and ignore the worst of it. The wood was barely a barrier, and it was able to move through.- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>
  • It can spawn six eyes that grow into cultists in black robes<ref>Black eggs slithered out from the base of the robe, then popped. The fibrous coverings unfolded into tattered robes, and the gray-skinned, eyeless cultists rose up to a standing position. Six more.- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref> which he can eat his priests to regain health.<ref name=":0">“If you defeat him, he has a brief period of invincibility, he summons two zodiac adherents, basically giant demons, then he enters an enraged mode, black ooze erupts constantly, he gets an laser artillery cannon if he’s not forced out of a room he’s in fast enough, blows holes through your ship. Oh, and he spawns eggs at a faster rate from all the ooze. He’ll eat his priests, to recuperate, and if he eats enough he un-enrages, goes back to phase one, and you’re starting over from scratch.”- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>
  • He can take over and corrupt systems.<ref>“Uh, he hacks your systems. Corrupts them.”

“I think I’ve seen him trying to do that. Okay. And?”- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>
  • He can create pools of black ooze that summons Gober Priests.<ref>“Ooze?”

“Gobar Priest eggs burble up from each pool, so you have to keep an eye on them. Pools last as long as he’s on your ship.”- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>
  • He has a second<ref name=":0" /> and third phase that makes him even more powerful.<ref>“He’s in a third phase, we don’t know what kinds of abilities he has, so let’s be careful.- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>
  • He weilds a laser cannon.<ref>Father Kabek Gobar reached into the murk of ichor and started to pull out something big and technological.

    ...

She pinned the butt of the gun to the floor.

He grabbed the gun with its weird handle, that was meant to be held by praying mantis limbs, and tore it free, the butt end shattering, black ichor flowing out of some dark battery at the end.- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>

Created by a mix of technomancy and celestial practice.<ref>Celestial practice. Lines, geometry, references to places and points. There seemed to be a lot of numbers and data that looked like code.

Technomancy. That figured.- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.2</ref>

Chronology

He invaded Kennet and attempted to create his own pocket dimension.<ref>“He’s trying to build something,” the Turtle Queen said.

“Build?”

“A pocket domain, a realm.”

“A demiurgic space?” Verona asked.- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.4</ref>

It fought with Lucy, the Turtle Queen and Grandfather. They eventually injured him enough that he was forced to eat his own priests, some of which were infected by Montague and the Turtle Queen but before they could bind him he escaped.

Verona created a portal into the digital aether so that they could follow him. Horseman then shot him with Bangnut and summoned a bunch of gremlins to attack him. They managed to bind him and had started looking at his code when he was destroyed.
