History
Lucy's grandparents were foster parents. Their foster children formed a family of 'siblings', though the only ones to formalize the relationship were Lucy's uncle Martie and her aunt Renee. Lucy's father was the only sibling who was born to Lucy's grandparents, rather than coming in through the foster system.<ref>Her dad had been the only child born to Lucy’s grandmother and grandfather, and the rest of his ‘siblings’ were the long-term foster children that they then brought in. Lucy's father died when she was young. After this, Jasmine was in a relationship with Paul for five years, during which time they got engaged and purchased a house. However, Paul's family were racist and didn't like that he was dating a black woman, and he chose to take his family's side and abandoned Jasmine and her family.
