Vanishing Points 8.1 is the first chapter of Vanishing Points. The trio have a talk with Raymond and then attend a class by Dorocher on healing.
Plot
- Raymond checks in on the trio and asks them to meet him in his office
- He also informs them that the Blue Heron Institute can’t find Alexander and that Tanner is in charge of looking for him
- Jorja and Talia appear to have made up
- Ray has started looking for a new headmaster, the two candidates he’s identified are Maurice Crowe or Abraham Musser
- Ray brings up the fact that the trio didn’t pay for their tuition and they explain to him how they ended up at the Blue Heron Institute
- Ray informs them that if they wish to continue attending they will have to pay 21,000 dollars a term
- Ray speculates that they where sent to the BHI specifically to remove Alexander and Bristow, he also muses about their involvement in the binding of Hungry Choir
- Verona explains that she didn’t know exactly what would happen when she gave the brownies Bristow’s thanks.
- They talk about Charles and his involvement in Kennet and Ray expresses his intention to visit him
- Ray correctly guesses that the trio are involved with the Carmine’s disappearance
- Ray inquires into their connection with their patrons and what they expect of them
- After Ray swears the trio his goodwill and to only step in if he needs to protect people they proceed to explain to him about their situation
- After their conversation with Ray the trio attend Durocher’s class on healing, upon starting she immediately summons two gods into the classroom
- They give an explanation about the different types of gods and how they work
- Metaphaos offers to heal them and the class pair up and start asking the deities to heal their friends
- Durocher explains the advantages and disadvantage of different types of healing
- Lucy offers to heal Yadira but instead of accepting Yadira storms out in anger
- Lucy finally realises how many people the three of them have alienated
