Conviction 5.2 is the second chapter of Conviction. Being in jail sucks, time drags on an sometimes loops back on you.

Plot[edit]

Blake is placed into a jail cell. He uses a bit of Blood magic so he can freely converse with Evan without being overheard. Once alone, Blake explains why he's in jail. Despite Blake's insistence that Evan shouldn't feel guilty, Evan stays determined to help in any way he can. Our protagonist concedes his arguments, agreeing to send his spirited pal scouting. Blake calls the Knights to come help. With nothing left he can do, Blake rests.

The next morning, Blake is awaken by a Knight's call. Evan, long since having returned from his task, is sent to retrieve their intel. Duncan comes to take Blake back to talk with his lawyer. They all continue their questions from yesterday. Even though Blake now has an alibi from the Knights, he is still trapped by Duncan's manipulations. Having realized what's going on, Blake turns the conversation around three times, thereby thwarting the temporal hang-up. Now with nothing hindering his arguments, Blake convinces everyone he is innocent and free to leave. Duncan and his borrowed spirits stand in the hallway, ready with a diagram. They activate a spell, sending everyone back in time.

That same morning, Blake awakens to see the Spell sent the Knights away. Evan is tasked with removing some of Duncan's spirits, while Blake works out Duncan's grand plan. Desperately in need of an ally, Blake sharpens a toilet seat with his Glamoured pelvic thrusts. He cuts himself so he can transfer his Self to Rose and wake her up. It works, but at a heavy cost. The other prisoners scream at the scene, alerting the guards who then opens his cell door. Blake uses more blood to be forgotten. Rose calls Evan back so he can lead the way.
