Collateral 4.7 is the seventh chapter of Collateral. Blake writes a contract with Pauz.
Plot
Inside Mr. Dowght's house, Blake and Pauz are resuming their negotiations from Collateral 4.5. They go back and forth until they conclude on a written agreement. Blake will bind Pauz until five minutes after midnight the night after next, after which Pauz will be released and free to taint the Lord of Toronto. During the term of their agreement, Pauz is not allowed to prematurely leave the binding. If the plan works, then Pauz and everyone he interacts with isn't allowed to hurt Blake or his friends. Failure on Blake's part would earn Pauz a small parcel of land. While failure on the Imp's part would result in him giving up all his taint in the world. In case another issue arises from the contract, a neutral third-party will act as the mediator.
With the completion of the final draft, Blake asks what happened to Rose. Pauz replies with "Your partner is asleep, in more ways than one. Think about why." He smiles smugly as Blake finishes the binding. Without Pauz there to control the animals, Blake realizes he's been tricked.
