</infobox> Kelsey Kelly is the mother of Avery Kelly.
Personality
Good boss and mother.
Relationships
Kelsey is married to Connor Kelly.
The only reason she had so many children is that the medicine she takes for her arthritis interfered with her birth control; she only realised after having Kerry.<ref name=":0">You were an accidental pregnancy, when they thought they were done. It was only after Kerry that they realized a medication your mom takes for her early arthritis counteracts her birth control.- Excerpt from Stolen Away 2.9</ref>
She heavily disliked one of her professors, so much so that she eventually dropped his class and took an extra year to finish university.<ref>“Remind me to tell you about my worst university class ever, sometime. I’m not a saint. If there was a deal like that, to get rid of that professor I hated to the core of my being, on the worst day, before I dropped the class instead, took an extra year to finish? Maybe.”- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.13</ref>
Abilities
Has good management skills and social skills. Her physicality is impaired by her early arthritis.<ref name=":0" />
Chronology
She works for a company that designs and makes clothing, they've recently acquired another company and started designing fabric for spacesuits.<ref>“Under our original branch, we made some casual wear, work clothes, jackets, and winterwear. We absorbed another company and now we also make athletic apparel, underwear, swimsuits, and casual wear. Our R&D work currently includes a contract with the Canadian Government designing materials and fabrics for spacesuits.”- Excerpt from Crossed with Silver 19.13</ref> She managed to get promoted to upper management after her former boss retired without warning.<ref>Then Kelsey’s boss had retired with no warning, sending everything into disarray at a time when they were already restructuring. She’d been called into a meeting and told she was being put in charge with instructions to ‘keep the rudder steady’. From manager of a team to manager of the entire Kennet setup overnight.- Excerpt from Let Slip 20.c</ref>
Paniced when someone at the school her sister Clara sent Rhys to turned out to be a sex offender, the shock made her demand that Connor homeschool the children.<ref>Her sister Clara’s eldest, Rhys, had been in first grade when a girl in his class had made a comment about the teacher being too hand-on during gym class. Not in those exact words, it had apparently been a lot of extra assistance being given to certain kids in supporting them for cartwheels and bar stunts. There had been uproar among parents, the principal and school board finally got their asses in gear, techs had found stuff on the school computer, in the accounts of that teacher and another one. They’d apparently been friends and bonded over those shared interests.
Clara had taken it badly. That her son had been so close to that. Kelsey had taken it worse. It didn’t matter that it was another town, another school, not even her kids. - Excerpt from Let Slip 20.c</ref> Due to this incident as well as Grumble living with them after his stroke her and Connor had almost got divorced. They managed to avoid this outcome after reaching a compromise where Connor would look after the kids and grumble whilst she worked.<ref>They’d treated it like a business negotiation. Zero bullshit. Laying things out, what they needed, what they wanted, what was non-negotiable.
His dad had to stay. There literally wasn’t any other option. Okay. Could Kelsey accept that as fact, non-negotiable, not a topic for another fight in the future unless she was willing to try finding a home for his dad? That got a reluctant okay.
Okay, but only if he compromised too. Okay.
She couldn’t let her kids go off to school, not into an environment that could be like Rhys’s class, not when Kelsey and maybe Connor as well were too overloaded to pay attention. One of them had to be free and clear to catch the very first whiff of anything. Okay. - Excerpt from Let Slip 20.c</ref>
She has to travel regularly to Thunder Bay in order to set up a new office for the company she works for.<ref>“Kelsey’s traveling to Thunder Bay every other week to move the main office,” Connor said. “But at least when she’s here, we can reconnect a bit. Do stuff like this.”-Excerpt from Can we Talk About the Girls?</ref> Because of this she has recently moved to Thunder Bay to start a new job whilst Connor stays in Kennet.<ref>“I was thinking… my mom has this job she’s been doing in Thunder Bay for the last year, and someone quit and she got the head position there. She goes on weekends and she’s been setting up the new office, and it was always this thing where, like, we might have to move if my mom got set up and my dad didn’t have anything. But I left homeschool and my siblings did too, and my dad took the opportunity to resume working full time instead of working part time and… he’s good at it. Earning good money, respected, and he wants to keep doing it.”
“So your mom’s leaving and your dad’s staying?”
“And they’ll be long distance. They asked earlier, if we kids were to split up… who would want to go?” - Excerpt from Dash to Pieces 11.3</ref>
She traveled the Bound to the Party Path with Avery, afterward she accompanied her daughter whilst she meet with Andrea Fulton, Cara Fulton, Valeria Hull, Regina Degroat, Fernanda Whitt and Raquel Musser to discuss them selling things to Kennet Market. She was able to create a plausible explanation for them being here.
