Plot
Verona wakes up in her Demesne and gets ready for the day ahead. She’s being constantly reminded about Matthew's Demesne claim.
She goes to her dad's home and her Fetch tells her she did badly on her social studies test and has more projects due. The Fetch says it could evolve into something more if it worked on it and Verona worries it’s developing a personality.
Next she visits Avery’s house and helps Kelsey make pancakes. She talks to Sheridan as well as Avery’s extended family.
Avery, Verona, Kyle, Breanne, and Sheridan leave to go on a walk and check on the shrines together. They get food and talk, Verona asking both Kyle and Breanne about themselves and who they are. Verona thinks Kyle is cute.
They bump into Mallory, she’s out burying a dead dog. They visit a shrine and Mallory says there are sixteen more in Kennet Below.
Avery asks if this will harm her cousins' Innocence and Verona says it would take more. Avery asks how Verona is and she confesses she’s not doing well but stops short of mentioning the possibility of her getting Forsworn.
Verona visits Matthews house and sees Edith outside, Edith says Lis told her that three people including a Hennigar are coming to contest the claim. Edith also says she’ll “no contest” his claim.
Verona tells Matthew and asks what Edith wants, he says all she asked was to not rule anything out. She gives him some spell cards and a strength potion. She no contests then leaves.
Lucy and Verona are on the arena roof drawing the diagram they need to create Found Kennet. They discuss the items for the twelfth diagram, they decide on the things they awoke with.
Suddenly Lucy stops getting pinged about Matthew's Demesne, they think it’s because there's someone inside and that Musser is using the ritual to sneak people into Kennet.
