The Kennet Others are a group of Others (and a few Practitioners) who have formed a sanctuary within the town of Kennet, Ontario.

Governance

The Kennet Others vote on important matters, with each individual or group getting one vote. There is also an elected leader who handles various matters; this role is currently filled by Sir Toadswallow. Toadswallow, alongside past leaders Miss and Matthew Moss, form a loose Council to provide leadership to the Kennet Others.

Present and past leaders of the Kennet Others are as follows:

Members

Membership in the Kennet community is decided by existing members of the community. In addition to the members listed here, there are a number of Others in Kennet who are not members of the community (see Kennet#Others).

Practitioners

The Kennet Trio were Awakened in order to serve as the Practitioners for the community. This role was formerly performed by Charles Abrams until he was forsworn.

Kennet Council

Inactive members

Members from the beginning, but currently serving a minimal role in the community<ref>Inactives: O.G. Others who have a limited role or no role at all, for reasons. - excerpt from Keeping Tabs, Kennet</ref>

Newer members

After the fall of the Perimeter, the Kennet Others recruited a slate of new members on a probationary basis. After the end of summer, many of these members were given a full vote as members of the community.<ref name="council-amendment">Council Amendment:
Votes have been simplified. Those who stayed & helped and who have been with us for 2+ months get a full vote now. Sponsorships are being shifted around and changed to a kind of babysitting duty, for very new members & problem Others. Half votes are for new members and those on probation: Freak & Squeak, Cig, new goblins (by their choice), and Reggie. - excerpt from Keeping Tabs, Kennet</ref>

Probationary members

Originally, probationary membership was to last two years, with members gaining a half-vote after the first year and a full vote after the second year.<ref>Every new member has two sponsors.  If new members come & there are no issues after one year then they become half members for one year (half vote each) and full members a year after. - excerpt from New Other Correspondence #1</ref> After the end of summer, the approach to probationary membership was modified; members get a half vote during their first two months and a full vote thereafter.<ref name="council-amendment" />
