Joel comes to check in on his tenant and friend Blake, finding him in a panic after the lights go off and, when Blake tells him he needs to get to Jacob's Bell, he loans him his car.<ref>The door opened, and my bear of a landlord stood in the way, leveling a stare at me. He wore an undershirt that strained across his stomach, and pyjama pants with pink and magenta stripes, with thick-frame glasses and thick caterpillar eyebrows on an otherwise hairless, unadorned head. - Excerpt from Bonds 1.2</ref> Which he gets back, though in bad condition.
Collateral
Joel reappears when Blake returns to his apartment and thanks him for the car, which Joel only regrets broke down on him in the middle of the storm. He offers to invite Blake's friends over and soon they have a small party where Blake friends and acquaintances show up.<ref>Collateral 4.1</ref> The festivity continues until Blake is called to a meeting with Conquest.
