[[Laird]] steps forward to act as the negotiator for the current predicament, while the other Behaims circle around to watch the exits. Despite [[Blake|Blake's]] best arguments, Laird convinces him that everything he has done so far has just made everything worse, especially for the friends he sacrificed for power. [[Rose]] tries to encourage Blake to keep going, and even offers him some information about options that won't work. [[Maggie]] suggests letting her use the [[Hyena]] however Blake refuses, hinting that he doesn't think she is who she says she is.
