Conviction 5.5 is the fifth chapter of Conviction.

Plot

Blake surveys the still faintly visible Spirit World, taking note of how much of a presence Conquest's Tower takes. He uses a bit of Glamour to check up on June. Blake and Evan pass the time while they continue waiting for Rose to come back with their ride. Eventually Fell does arrive, but challenges Blake to prove he isn't possessed before he can get in the car. Despite Rose's attempt at dissuading them from trying to capture the Abstract Demon, Blake compromises with her and offers to give up if and only if they failed to find an answer after trying their hardest. She agrees. Blake uses his tattoos to prove he is isn't possessed.

As Fell drives them to the factory the Demon lives, Blake and Rose start brainstorming. Rose names all the demonic choirs so she can justify categorizing the factory demon as, she settles on the choir of darkness. She feels like there has to be a logic to the magic system, but Blake reasons that it more about how Others interpret everything. With that in mind, they agree that light and creation should work against this demon. They finalize with fire, lightning, moonlight, and plants as their potential defenses.

At the oil factory, Rose is almost convinced. She tests Blake to see if he is physically capable. He completes most of the test, but had to secretly cheat a bit using glamour and wind runes. They make their final preparations for the fight with the Abstract Demon.
