Plot
Joseph gathers the courage to try and free the woman he loves, Courtney Canfield, from her father on the accusation that he was hoarding her as he did his treasures. The resulting conflict ended with his Familiar delivering a fatal stab to Mr. Canfield. This does not stop the dying man summoning Conquest and allowing himself to be subsumed. He finds out that Courtney never needed his help.
Years in Conquest's service made him bitter and abusive to his son and wife in an effort to drive them away or kill him, but it came to naught.
Isadora works out Matthew Attwells plan for escaping Conquest; intentionally maarying an unfaithful woman so his vhildren won't be his. The Sphinx says that the plan won't work. Matthew is devestated.
Fell drops Blake, Rose, Evan, and some Goblins off at the abandoned factory. He then drives with his useual haste to prepare for whatever outcome Blake takes. He arrives at his apartment, where his mother and niece are waiting for him. Emily tells him about her trips and friends before getting ready for bed.
