Damages 2.7 is the eighth chapter of Damages. Maggie has a nice chat with Blake and Rose. They try to negotiate a deal, but are interrupted by Laird's spicy reveal.

Plot

Maggie is checking out Blake's stuff. She admits she is enticed, so she offers 'friendship in exchange for free access to their books.' Blake and Rose refuse. She tries again with 'accepting their earlier deal at the church in exchange for the books.' The topic gets derailed when someone mentions Molly's death. Maggie talks about what Molly was like as a practitioner, and about goblins. Blake suddenly remembers some of his worst days where he was beaten by a bunch of kids; he begins to wonder if they were actually goblins. Eventually they return to negotiating, with Rose offering 'access to their books in exchange for Maggie accepting the church deal, nonaggression, and a little something extra each time she visits.' Maggie agrees, but Blake wants the agreement in paper. Maggie throws a fit, but quickly calms down. She offers an ofuda trinket as an apology. Maggie and Rose continue chatting, while Blake goes upstairs to put his Faerie Hair in a locket.

Blake opens the front door to talk with Laird. He is pissed that Blake tried to sabotage him and promises a retaliation against Blake. Laird also breaks to news that it was Maggie and her goblins who killed Molly.

This erupts into an argument, Maggie revealing she only did it on behalf of Laird and the other members of the Council. Blake and Rose are understandably angry but Blake is surprisingly able to keep his temper. Blake says he would forgive her if Maggie swears that she feels regret over her actions. When Maggie can't Blake asks her to leave. Laird looks on with triumph.
