Joel overall seems to be a patient and kind man. He is gay and uses it as an excuse for the few flamboyant mannerisms that he has.

Joel appears in the second to find Blake in a panic after the lights go off and, when Blake tells him he needs to get to Jacob's Bell, he loans him his car.

Collateral

Joel appears when Blake returns to his apartment and thanks him for the car, which Joel only regrets broke down on him in the middle of the storm. He offers to invite Blake's friends over and soon they have a small party where Blake friends and acquaintances show up. The festivity continues until Blake leaves to meet Conquest.
