She is no nonsense and without a sense of humour. She can be ruthless at times.

Like most Fae practitioners she's adept at using glamour and at seeing through disguises using it.<ref>She slapped him, and Songetay became Corbin.

  As if shaken free, wood layers, paint, and translucent peels of glass drifted off of the cabins and buildings nearby.  They fragmented and caught in the air, drifting like blossoms in the wind.

  More of the scene fell away, including details.  The leaves on every tree on the far side of the workshop buildings, shingles, wood, glass… there were places which were almost impossible to see on the other side of the now-storm of blossom-like fragments that stirred in wind, dark and distorted.  The group of them was caught on the inside of the storm, but the blossoms nearly blocked the view of Raymond.

Chronology

She took over her family's practice after Witch Hunters killed everyone over the age of eighteen.<ref>Estrella leads her family practice at 17, after all family practitioners over the age of eighteen were executed by the Montreal Witch Hunters. The Vanderwerfs have long dealt with the regimented Winter Court of Faerie, and Estrella puts practitioners with three times her experience to shame as she keeps track of hundreds of plots, many of which have run for centuries. She was on Bristow's side during the school war, she helped keep Verona, Lucy, America and John prisoner. She quit after deciding the pressure wasn't worth the risk and agreed to a cessation of hostilities, as part of the agreement America was allowed to stab her on the boob.<ref>- Gone Ahead 7.8</ref>

She was in charge of the field trip to the Court of High Fall and introduced the trio to the High Fall fortune teller.<ref>- Excerpt from Vanishing Points 8.6</ref>
