Behind the Scenes

Weaver Dice is a real game, although few people would reference it in the same sentence as Dungeons & Dragons; it's based on Wildbow's own Parahumans stories. Similarly, biopunk films seem to be based on his serial Twig, while many in the Parahumans universe enjoy Maggie Holt books and movies (in fact, the Parahumans story Worm referenced them before Pact ever came out.)
