The Composite Kid is an Other that was created to fill the vacuum the victims of the Hungry Choir left.<ref>A bunch of people had disappeared when the Choir had taken them and they'd left a void where their Selves and lives had been. Something had crawled into that void to occupy it and live in it, and that something was complex like edith was complex, made up of individual fragments. Personality

He picked up the desperation the Hungry Choirs victims had during their last moments.<ref>They were so desperate. All of them. It wasn't just those three. They bit, they clawed, they screamed, they hurt. In their last moments they stood on the edge of oblivion. More of them gave their all than gave up.
