Null 9.5 is the fifth chapter of Null. Blake is so invigorated from knowing who he is that he climbs out of the Abyss.
Plot
Blake ruminates on the realization that he is an Other, and examines his body for mutations. Now covered in branches and feathers, Blake returns to Zoey Artana to recount what happened. The witch repays with tidbits of information about the meaning of Blake and Rose's tarot cards, a possible escape route, and a reminder to hold on to his humanity. As Blake leaves to head back the way he came, he's given a vison. A furious Rose attempting to drive her parents away.
Blake laughs it off as he continues his trek. After avoiding an attack, he realizes it's because he's not so afraid anymore. More visons appear. Blake struggles against his inner voice as he nearly gives in to the temptations of the Abyss. Another vison uses his friend's misfortune to hurt Blake emotionally. Regardless Blake persists on his trek, finally reaching a site of battle between Ur and a forgotten god. A final barrage of visions guilts Blake into facing the Abstract Demon once more.
He leaps, climbs, and prays for the aid of the forgotten god. Along the way, Blake stumbles across the Hyena blade. A final push of light sees Ur driven back long enough for Blake to climb out.
