The chapter begins with a description of [[Conquest]]'s home, both the exterior and interior. Inside, trophies from conquered enemies litter the room. The [[Fell|unnamed practitioner]] explains the rules of Conquest's home. They enter the meeting room to find Conquest, [[Isadora]], [[Jeremy]], and [[Diana]] waiting for him. [[Blake]] offers Conquest a gift, but is forced to justify why he should care. Satisfied with the third response, Conquest allows the council to ask Blake their questions. They examine his hatchet, ask where he came from, and test his wits with a riddle. Blake pleases everyone with his answers, then attempts to entertain them. Everything was going great until Jeremy started sabotaging him. In attempting to fix it, Blake accidently draws attention back to where he comes from. They piece the clues together, and realize he is a [[Diabolist]]. Everyone instantly turns against him. Despite Isadora's disproval, Conquest claims Blake as his [[Demon]] summoning pets. The chapter ends with Conquest pulling [[Rose]] out of the mirror and into his grasp.
