It is a common issue for Technology to have an inconsistent effect in the Otherverse.

Particulars

The Digital Implement is any device normally in the Technomancer’s province, including blackberries, handheld televisions, and radios. Too unfamiliar to spirits to have a ‘diagram’, the digital implement foregoes the upsides and uses of an implement for a material means of connecting one’s Self to the digital reaches and better extend that self through those spaces. Technomancers obviously deal with modern technology as part of their practice.<ref>False Moves 12.9</ref>

While Others can learn to drive cars, or have them as part of their makeup such as Killwagon, a given car is more likely to have a human behind the wheel than an Other.

Internet

As of Pact the Internet could not be said to even be 50 years old especially as it is distinguished from it's various predeccesors such as the DARPAnet. Access to this is usually considered part of the Electro-radio or Digital Aether, as such it is possible for an Other such as as Nex Machina or any other sufficiently "large" to affect this "realm" and thus the internet.

It's use has led to the proliferation of various Living Rituals.

Firearms

Guns have been around for over 600 years by the time Pale happens.<ref>met museum "12. Armor became obsolete because of firearms." October 2004 https://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/aams/hd_aams.htm</ref> Still, Guns are inconsistent with their effects on Others.

Trivia

  • On a pedantic level technology, which just means an application of knowledge, can involve using rocks to open coconuts but processes such as Knapping which turns stones into useable tools like various types of blades. Take an investment of time and prior material. Thus just as paper making and mass printing are needed to make a newspaper technology is a product of centuries of knowledge and material indicative of time and energy invested in making them happen.
