Personality

Relationships

She is currently tutoring Harri.<ref>got along okay with Harri, and more importantly, Nomi’s teacher Yiyun got along with Harri’s teacher Helen, so they spent time together.- Excerpt from Let Slip 20.b</ref>

Appearance

She has a sharp nose, sharp chin, narrow face, high cheekbones. Abilities

She works with horrors.<ref>We don’t have full details or descriptions.  Helen Kim, Horrors.- Excerpt from Let Slip 20.8</ref> She can dramatically deform her own body using a handful of black chopsticks with golden letters on them.<ref>The woman held up what looked like thirty black chopsticks, gripped all as a bundle in one hand.  There might have been threads attaching them.

The youngest of the four was behind her.  Holding six- three in each hand.

“Each corresponds to parts, see?” Helen asked, holding up the sticks.  She used a thumb to push up one stick, and there were letters in gilded writing on the end.  Gillian wasn’t close enough to see.  “Head.”

She moved the bundle left, then right.  Helen’s head and Gillian’s head moved accordingly.- Excerpt from Let Slip 20.e</ref> She can also use them to manipulate other peoples bodies, extending limbs and even braking bones.<ref>“Here.  Just for you,” the woman said.  She gave the bundle a single shake.  Head went down- and so did two other sticks.  With a swipe of her hand, she broke them.  “Legs!”

Gillian’s legs snapped backwards.  She fell, screaming as bone grated against bone.  The fall nearly knocked wind out of her, as she expected to hit snowbank but hit trodden footpath instead, the parts that hadn’t been stomped down digging into her back.

Helen shook the bundle- and the two broken sticks were fixed.

She's able to call on the Carmine Exile's Lords to get power in exchange for favours.<ref>A whole lot of permanent horrificness I’ve turned temporary.  Now let me call on forces.  Star-mother and the Black Pitch Stalker, the Urgaritic nether-ruins serpent.  Hammer this home.  I don’t want it coming back at me.”- Excerpt from Let Slip 20.e</ref>

Chronology

She attended the Blue Heron Institute and whilst there agreed to look after a dryad belonging to another student in exchange for access to places controlled by that students family. She then got a better offer and took the dryad and it's tree apart giving it to one of the rivals of the student.<ref>“Uhhh, I won’t name names, because the teachers might have magical ears set out to keep us from dredging up too much of that stuff, but student A asked student B to look after a fragile and really important dryad.  Student A’s dad offered access to some places that are warded off to anyone that isn’t from A’s family, if B would complete the job.”

“What made the dryad so special?” Verona asked.

Corbin answered, “The tree was used in the killing of a lot of people, and all of them became strong Others who could sort of practice.  But it was a lot of death energies, the tree had its own intelligence and a feminine body that acted separate and she got sick with the death energies.    Anyway, that’s beside the point.  Student B got a better offer than A’s dad was giving them, and took the dryad and her tree apart for materials and raw power, gave the materials to the rival of A, took the raw power, got a bunch of favors and stuff.”- Excerpt from Cutting Class 6.4</ref> Afterwards she attempt to avoid becoming forsworn by arguing that it was against school rules, this strategy ultimately failed and the student was expelled.<ref>“Apparently the offer B got was way way better.  Anyway,” Corbin said, shrugging.  “B collected.  Then they claimed A couldn’t forswear them because they were a student at school and school rules forbid that.”

Verona whistled.

“Yep,” Corbin said.  “Which, you know, normally wouldn’t be a huge issue, because you can wait until the school year ends, except B stayed for three semesters and started making claims that since A hadn’t taken action, they weren’t claiming their right to forswear and it was only a mere gainsaying.”

“A forswore B, and then A got expelled,” Melody said.  “And friends of A and B were up in arms, fighting over who was right.  This feels like that.”- Excerpt from Cutting Class 6.4</ref>

At some point her sentence was repealed by the Carmine Exile.
