The girls take out their items for the awakening ritual each placing them where they need to be with commentary by Miss about the appropriateness for the ritual and what they're meant to represent. As the ritual begins they state and seal a compact between themselves and the Other community cooperation between them and mutual protection. As the the awakening ritual continues, each shares personal details about themselves and expressing their reasons for their choices in symbols and masks. Lucy wants to be cleaver and protective, verona wants to be confident and forward looking while Avery gives a more involved explanation then the other two. She talks about how alone she felt before she got her friends with a photograph she says how she feels she almost disappeared after losing friends and connections. | |||
