Laird and Blake enter a coffee shop to continue talking. Laird gives more details about Molly's death, and explains some more about the rules of magic. Rose reveals that Laird is a chronomancer, and explains a bit more about implements. While Blake and Rose were distracted, Laird fasrforwards time and ditches them.
