Conviction 5.4 is the fourth chapter of Conviction.

Plot

With Rose's guidance, Blake and Evan complete the rest of the familiar ritual. Evan is transformed into a bird, and immediately goes to work on unlocking the way out. Before they can escape, Duncan Behaim enters the room holding them at gunpoint. More officers arrive to help suppress Blake. Evan sneaks from behind, and flies into Duncan's coat. Eventually Evan gets caught, neck snapped, and hurled into a wall.

Blake secretly communicates to Rose to call on June Burlison the Frost Hatchet, whom is still on the officer's person. Duncan tries to hide it, but Blake calls him out on it, thereby drawing attention of the authorities for the third time. Duncan slows time and attempts to shoot Blake. Luckily Evan pushes him out of the way. Some of the other officers chase after Duncan before continuing with locking Blake back in a cell. Evan reveals he has stolen the locket back from Duncan, along with a new trinket.

Blake is woken up by Duncan screaming about his stolen things. Later, Blake is woken up again by his lawyer telling him he is innocent. He talks the police chief into letting him go.
